Default Feb from FCUK

Hi all, still having the hello Jan thread going is confusing me.. not hard, I know! So here's hello in Feb... I need to know what month I'm chatting in, I'm still having trouble with writing the right year down on dates now....

Hey, has anyone heard from Shiela? Can't for the life of me think of her screen name now....I wonder how she's doing?

How about Carol? She's disappeared again...

Frus: In answer to your question about lent... giving anything up.. hadn't quite realised that we'd got that close to it yet..(see what I mean about confused)
but I'll get back to ya.

Just had a thought. does that mean today is PANCAKE DAY??????

Default Pancakes

Yup, you're right, for me the annual torture, not that I actually like the things, but my 'little' dears do, and guess who has to slave away in the kitchen? I did try buying them ready made, but for some mad reason this year have some packet mix ready. I have actually learned to make decent ones through practice making omelettes, yum!

Ok PANCAKE DAY!!!

I have just counted this recipe through fitday

4oz plain flour
1 egg
1/2 pint semi skimmed milk

comes to..... 445 calories

This will make about 6 ish smallish pancakes, about a pint of mixture all together!

With fully skimmed milk it is 421 calories, WW points; 7.5 with semi skimmed milk and 6.5 with fully skimmed milk.

I will be making this recipe for me and DH tonight, but what goes on the top of course will be my downfall (think maple syrup, bananas, chocolate frosting, ice cream... )

You chicks have such an intriguing title that it catches my eye all the time!

Pancake day over here too and I am trying to forget it. We are in the middle of a maple syrup producing area and I love the delicious stuff!

Happy Shrove Tuesday to all the Brit FCUKs!

ROFL..............

Yes Kirsty, that's Sheila. Teel, bless her... that's so nice that you talk to her, please wish her well for me.

Cat.. I'm seriously beginning to think I'm not only a tad dyslexic (that's putting it nicely by the way, thanks) but nuts too, I asked my son three times this afternon if he was going to wrap a gift for his girlie, and he told me the same answer three times and it STILL didn't register... he yelled at me about it on the third time... I tell him it's cos I think of a lot of things at onc, so can miss things occasionally.. his point was that I missed the same thing three times though. help

Didn't have any pancakes......... went out to dinner instead though... pigged out a bit, double rounds at curves tomorrow....

And there was I, thinking it was F... January, as my motto at that time of year (from a comedy song by Flanders and Swan when I was a child - don't worry, only my senior citizen classes remember them!) is 'Bloody January Again', as that seems to be the time of year when bad things happen. Cue the Carlisle floods! Now I understand........

I made pancakes with wholemeal flour, ground Scottish Oatmeal and skim milk, and didn't have anything else for dinner. They were very yummy if I do say so myself, even hubby liked them!

Hi all

I'm glad to say I avoided any pancakes this year. I normally just ignore Pancake Day, but my 10 year old made me feel like a bad mummy when she complained we never have pancakes and ALL her friends do! Trouble is I'm always on the post Christmas diet at this stage of the year and still at the stage when I don't want to be tempted. So I made them for her (and hubby managed a few too despite his diet!) but I resisted, I tried a bit of one plain, but without any yummy toppings it didn't taste that good, so I managed to avoid them.

Am I a saint or what????

Jan

Been to sw can't say I enjoyed it, remember why I stopped going now. I find it a bit boring. My sister paid for me to rejoin so I will have to go for a while to show willing.
