Question Office workouts

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to find some type of workout that I can do in my office. I have a small pair of hand weights (2 lbs) that sort of move around during the day. I've considered getting one of those small pedal or step machines to put under my desk to use while I'm working.

I live in Atlanta and the traffic here is horrible. I drive over an hour to work every day and of course an hour back home. It leave very little time for workouts in the evening. I do still use the eliptical every night for 45minutes and do stretches and abs...Yes it takes up my whole evening considering I get home at 6pm. I'm commited to this so I will keep doing it. Still I thought if I could do something during the day here at my office that it may help.

Any suggestions on an office work out?

Thanks
Stacy

I'm close to 40 miles from work. Sometimes I wish I lived in the city instead of the burbs!

In the summer I ride my bike around my neighborhood some but certainly not enough.

Sprinkles,
What about maybe a gazelle for your office? Of course not the full blown model but the small one? You could use it on your lunch hour. I must say though that using the elliptical 45 minutes a day is wonderful exercise? perhaps if you are looking at adding something to your routine pick up some resistance bands they travel well, and are cheap, and they will help you build some nice lean muscle. Just a thought

I think I'll pick up some of those bands. I was considering getting one of the mini pedal machines or a mini stepper to keep under the desk and just play with it all day. I don't think I could bring in anything too big. I didn't know which would work better. They are fairly inexpensive ($20 to $30) at places like Target.

Would you suggest one of those?

Thanks again

I've never personally used one of those machines, I am fortunate to have time to exercise so if I want to do stairs I'll go to our high school gymnasium and run the stadium stairs there, or I'll just ride my bike or a stationary bike. So I can't give you much advice there. I do however know some one who bought the little stairstepper thing and it broke in like 2 weeks and it wasn't because she was too heavy for it, I think she only weighed 140 at that time. But I really think that since you already have a cardio routine that you should definately add weights/resistance to your routine I know its hard when you are busy though.

Why don't you try to go for a power walk or a run on your lunch hour. That's what I do and it works great for me. I have three kids so when I get home from work there is no time for workouts.
