What type of vegetarian are you? Do you eat fish, eggs and dairy? If so, you should be able to get enough protein on this plan. Otherwise you will have to rely on tofu and legumes.

I think I read in Prevention magazine ( which is Rodale publishing that does the SB books) that if you log on to the website in the SB diet book that there is a plan for vegetarians. I looked in the book just now and didn't see it there. I will look later for it, my thin husband is a V.... and our diet is pretty much the SB plan anyhow, minus the meat, fish and chicken for him. He does eat cheese thankgoodness! I make a lot of things with beans, whole grains. The boca burger and soy products have made the V thing a lot easier. I am going to start SB, the no fruit thing has been a hangup for the 1st 2 weeks. I have lost about 40 lbs ( I don't weigh myself) and our diet is pretty much the SB in the later phases, we follow a natural foods type diet for years and years... I am proof though you can become overweight on a healthy diet. I have been on this board since the beginning, but more a reader, not a lot of posting and then lost my password and rejoined. I know you can get enough protein, we over eat protein in this country any how! I am looking forward to support on here, as I have at least 40 more pounds to lose!

I just read my post and it sounds like I lost 40#'s in the first 2 weeks of SB! I have lost it over a year just exercising and eating a lot less and no sugar, etc.... I only wish it was that much in two week.
