Wow! Its already the afternoon!!

John is off today and tomorrow and we got alot of stuff done today! We were starting to clean the house and got a phone call from his boss at Lowe's that they were coming this morning to deliver the fence because the installer wants to start tomorrow instead of thursday as planned because it will take them about 3 days to put it all up! 42 six foot panels! A gate in the back and a double gate in the front. This yard is huge! I can't wait...then I can let Andrew out back without having to stay outside with him or in the kitchen doing stuff. You can only clean your kitchen so much or do stuff at the kitchen table for so long! Plus the dog isn't liking to be walked on a leash each morning to do his business....he's use to going out and taking his time! Boy did I get off track there! LOL We hurried to clean, I did the kitchen and he did the two bathrooms and we both picked up the living room and I folded 2 loads of laundry hanging around in the basket and dryer and through another load in the wash. The house got clean pretty quick! Just need to have that company on a regular basis to keep the house clean!!

Anyhow, I have had a great food day so far...I even had a NSV today. For breakfast I had 1/2 cup oatmean w/1 T peanut butter and 2 equal, cooked in the microwave w/1 cup of water for breakfast. Then I did a couple of shops today one being a mcdonalds. NSV = John got the big mac meal and Andrew got the chicken nugget meal and we came home and I made a beautiful salad of baby spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, cukes, celery and the left over sauted shrimp we had the other night. The salad was so pretty I didn't want to eat it. I had lf blue cheese dressing drizzled on it and decaf iced tea! Then I had a pack of those oreo cookie 100 calorie packs! I love them! The oreo one is the best, I live the wheat thins too! So worth the 2 pts!

Well I am off to do my reports from the shops now...so I will check back later to see who is posted and to catch up with you all then!

I have to say I am loving this time difference thing
When I get up in the morning I have all these posts to read from overnight my time! hehehe.

I did 40 minutes deep water walking yesterday morning, I had lots of water but my food wasn't great - I kept within my calories for the day but my fat counter was way over the limit. So my challenge to myself today is to make good choices in food as well as staying within my calories.
I have to say - you girls are very inspiring I so want to have a successful week and lose again next monday!

Default Tuesday Tip:

With winter almost upon us, and with so many of us still going into the pool with clorine, dry skin is almost a given. I've found that if I stop using a anti-bacterial or dedorant soap my skin feels so much better. I personally use the Dove pink soap with the moisturizer built in, and I wouldn't go back to the other kinds of soap for anything. Also stay away from the liquid stuff that so many of the health clubs furnish for "free"

Tuesday Tip ... (even though its wednesday here!) I was thinking this morning in the pool about what had made times this year more successful than others in losing weight etc .. and came to the conclusion that its been times when I have found a routine that works for me, and then stuck to it. I remember covenanting with myself that I would go to the pool 5 times a week no matter what - and then getting into that routine so it became second nature - and during that time I was losing about 2 lbs a week no problems. I guess its obvious, but we are creatures of habit, and if we build a habit/routine deliberately that will be good for us, then that's gotta help!

Barb, I use Dove too ... otherwise I would have very dry skin from the chlorine. I take along shampoo, conditioner, soap etc and have a shower and get dressed for the day there. It's a good start to the morning. I did 45 minutes deep water walking this morning, and it really was idyllic ... the pool I go to has trees around and the kookaburras were there this morning laughing away in the trees, and a couple of dragonflies were lazily drifting over the pool ... I had to think "this is the life!"
I felt so motivated that on my way home I went to the fruit and vegie market, and bought a lot of fresh stuff so I can keep on track - part of my problem yesterday was that I didn't have a lot of good foods in the house to choose! So now I have watermelon, about 5 other sorts of fruits, salad vegetables, and some vegetables for stirfry.

I have also been trying to find a reasonable pic to put up on the pics thread ... but I cringe when I look at them ... I'm trying to look on the bright side and tell myself I will have a lot of 'before' photos when I finally do lose all this weight!

Hey everyone

I have some good news to share! I had a doctor's appointment today, and he said I'm healing very well. I get to walk, full weight on my leg, starting next Monday, as long as I wear my brace! Considering I've been on crutches for 2.5 months now, this is amazing to even think about.

I didn't get to weigh yesterday, but is it ok to join in the next challenge and just count my last weight? That is all I can figure to do for now. I've been taking care with not overeating and keeping away from sweets, so hopefully when the rest of this swelling goes down and the brace comes off, I'll be showing a loss.

2cute, I was the one who didn't send pictures last year. I made up for it by posting one for the thread, though! This year might end up being the same thing. My sweetie is visiting Dec. 16th, and he is about the only person I let take pictures of me. I am so painfully camera shy. If I wait that long to send out cards, they might not all arrive in time. BTW, Wahoo! on your fantastic loss for the challenge!

Terri, I am so glad you weren't hurt badly by the fall! My first thought was of your previously injured foot.

Sandy! Wow, it is so good to see you again!

Leanne, I just love that name. It has been fun reading and getting to know you.

Gail, I'm with you! Sometimes this thread just moves!!! Glad to have you here with us as well.

Kerri, same as the other two, it is going to be fun getting to know you. Glad you decided to join our thread.

Thin, I loved reading your weight loss post! Congratulations! And you sounded so totally upbeat! When are you and DH heading to Vegas? Hope your back is healed well before then.

Michelle, you sound so happy with your new home. And thank you for posting your yummy menus of late. They are giving me some great ideas. Also, those 100 calorie packs are the bomb! My favorite is the Oreo one as well. They only count as a single starch for me, and I can usually make room for a couple of treats a week for myself.

Kat, I know you posted, and I feel like a dork because I can't remember any details. Still, wanted to say hi because you are just one seriously cool chick.

Angela, I love the bracelet idea. It reminded me that I promised myself a massage when I hit under 300, and I still haven't gotten it. My masseuse friend reminds me every once in a while as well.

Barb, I was so happy to see you posting a loss! You have worked so hard, that pound was VERY deserved.

BarbPA, Speaking of upbeat, you have been sounding awfully good of late.

Cd, how is the back feeling? Those belly dancing tapes do sound like a blast. One of my sisters swears by it for toning. Her husband didn't argue one bit!

Ok, I kept well away from pain pills for several hours so I could catch up and all of these posts wouldn't be a total blur. Thing is, I was behind enough that they began to blur anyway! I hope I didn't miss too many of you or confuse too many details along the way. It was important to me to let you all know how much I have been missing you. All these posts are helping me to keep motivated to get back on top of my game as soon as possible!

Take care

Andria

Andria - glad you were feeling up to posting again! We missed you! You will be up and 'attem soon and back on track! Posting my food here makes me feel accountable for what goes in my mouth! On the tracker I could write anything and who would know? Eh?? At least here someone could say hey girl wait a minute!...THAAATS not 2 points its 4...Plus I like to get the most for my points so I try and eat alot of low point stuff to make sure I am good and full....That salad I had today with the leftover shrimp on top...it looked so beautiful on my clear glass fish plate...too good to eat! Plus when I looked at it I said thats not what will fill me up...I have to get that thought out of my head because that salad was so filling I almost didnt' finish it. I think of big fat greasy hamburgers with fries as filling..not salad or yogurt or fruit! I'll have to remember that salad and how filling it was!

Geesh...there I go babbling again! Its not like I haven't had anyone to talk to today. I just got off the phone with my mother and John has been home all day too and we went out and ran errands and did stuff in the house!

Leanne...being consistent is the key! I was walking almost every day and it became a routine and when I couldn't walk because of really bad weather or work I was really missing it!!

Gail I know you are out knitting but haven't you caught up on the threads yet? Where is your post???

Sandy you never came back and posted either...just busted my chops and ran, eh???

Barbg - I'll have to get the pink dove...my skin is always dry and flaky! I hate it!

Where is 2Cute, Thin, Jen, Angela, CD, Susie, Kat, BarbPa...who else? Lucky, Mary...where has Mary been? Steph, and Duckie..whatever happened to Duckie? And has anyone ever heard from Sara? Terri are you working? And Syn...where are all the oldies? Tina...?? Wish you would come back!!

OK maybe I can get the woodwork shaken and get some of these people out posting again!! And the rest of you...take a break and post tonight!!

Gotta run...as usual...I'll be back! Michelle

I did quite well today! I had my raisin bran and milk for breakfast-- stuck on that because it's fast, easy and I can eat it quick while I'm running out the door. My friends and I decided on Sonic for lunch, and I avoided all jalapeno burgers and tator tots and wonderful chocolate shakes and had a grilled chicken salad with lf ranch and an unsweet iced tea. Woohoo!

Then headed to Curves after work. Didn't really feel like changing into workout clothes, so I worked out in my scrubs. Much to my surprise, the owner brought in two new machines and added a total of four more stations. Just when I was getting used to the routine--Kicked my BUTT, but I finished!!

I need a scale for the house. Never have owned one--ever. Don't know if I want one. Wondering if I should just do the monthly weigh-ins at Curves for awhile and see progress instead of stressing week-to-week or day-to-day. I dunno. Still thinking about that one. I don't want that big 3** number staring me in the face every morning, mocking me, telling one of us to get off! LOL. Maybe that's what I NEED, though. But I don't think I do right now. I'm doing well with what I'm doing. Getting my 64+ oz of water a day, eating around 1300 calories a day and exercising 3-4 times a week.

Gonna be screwy at working out this week. These are the weeks I need some exercise videos because of my schedule at the nursing home getting wierd. I worked out tonight, would do it on Thursday but there's a huge holiday family dinner at work for the residents and their families. We're expecting about 600 people and we have to set up, serve and clean up and break down all the tables and chairs that we spend all afternoon setting up. Last year we didn't get out of there until after 9 at night, so there goes Curves out the window that day.

I do need some videos. Think I wanna try some bellydance, hula and maybe that striptease aerobics I saw on another thread :P. Would be fun, though!

Hey Michelle if you check back to the last thread you will see that I was a little bit of a posting monster. I sometimes get carried away.

I have had 2 great days OP, no exercise, but it will come in time. Today I have consumed 25 pts. I still have room for something, oh how I hate to waste my points.

Hi ladies,

Just a quick note. I'm having laptop problems again (I will have to take it for someone to look at one of these days) so I've spent too much time on it tonight. I'm downstairs on the old dog 300 mhz computer now.

Thanks for the well wishes on the little riding incident. Pilates to the rescue to work out the stiffness and I'm just fine today. I've earned my 4 activity points for the day.

We just finished watching The Biggest Loser. It should be named The Biggest Bleeping Babies. What a bunch of wusses. Whiners. Crybabies. I wanted to slap that pouty look right off Mo's face when he was staring at the cupcakes. Hey Lucky, you think I'm mean, I can't hold a candle to the meanness of their trainers. At least I haven't made you cry. Although...I have made people who work for me cry.

Andria, good to see you back. My mom will probably have to have similar knee surgery this winter. Hope she goes to my sister's house to recover. LOL

Hello to everyone else!

I'm off to bed!

Unhappy Back from vacation...

Well, I'm back....I was at the doctor this morning, and thought I had lost my 2 pounds, but just came from WI and actuallly showed a .6 lb gain
I was at the doctor to change arthritis meds, the last one caused shortness of breath!
...and I went to the dentist yesterday and found that I have a cracked tooth and need a crown.
Just falling apart I guess.
I didn't get my turkey before I left...wouldn't have gotten many feathers anyhow..most disgusted with myself!

AT WW tonight, there was a 'rehearsal' for Thanksgiving....she had a recipe posted that she got off of WW.com for a pumpkin pie made with phyllo dough for the crust...only 3 points per serving! but I can't find it on WW.com, and didn't copy it because I was sure I could find it.

I've looked thru our recipe page and have not found it, I did find the crustless one, but would love to have the phyllo one. HAS ANYBODY SEEN IT??

ENUF GRUMBLING???
sorry.
