Thumbs up Super Size Me!

Just watched the film Super Size Me!

It's really good - def worth seeing! I thought - ok so a guy gonna eat McDonalds for a month - how can they fill a film with that - but they do and it's really interesting.

You just wanted him to stop eating it! He put on 24.5lbs!!

One thing though if you do watch it - DON'T WATCH IT ON AN EMPTY STOMACH!!

And he could only supersize it when asked those were the rules don't think i'd spend money to see it though..seen enough of it on TV. I agree with Mc'Ds on this one..no-one eats their meals 3? times a day so its unfair in that respect. Well, I hope they don't..although some americans look like they do I don't eat there..EVER

what's up with "some americans look like they do" eat McDonalds 3 times a day comment? That isn't the supportive attitude that I come here for.

Hi Samantha,

I don't think Cat's comment was in any way intended to offend & seems harmless enough to me.

I was obese (now just overweight ) because - like others - I ate the equivalent of eating McDonalds three times a day. So I quite rightly looked like I ate McDonald's 3 times a day - cos in effect I did!

The film is about Americans - and it states that the USA has the highest percentage of obese / overweight people - so it was fair to say really.

Everyone on here is here for the same reason - we all want to lose weight and we all need each others support.

Cat is one of the most supportive people I have met on here - you only have to look at her mountain of other posts

Good luck with your weight losses

Kel

Last time I was at Maccy D's I was with the 'rents, they had chicken nuggets and that healthy menu stuff, I just had a diet coke cos it all looked so urgh!

I'll post my verdict of SSM tomorrow!

I am sure that cat didn't mean to offend anyone when she said that - it is the equivalent of when someone says something about your brother...it is ok for you to say "My brother is such a nerd", but if SOMEONE ELSE says "Your brother is such a nerd" It makes you mad. Or you can say "I am so fat" but if someone else says "You are so fat" It makes you mad. Same thing.

We are supportive round here Samantha don't take the comment to heart. I look like I eat more than 3 Mc meals a day and I never go there.

Oh Dear..Sorry Samantha..that was just a little joke and definitely not meant to offend. The reason I said that was because I've been to the States many times and I've lost count of how many 400lbs+ people I've seen in the buffets go and get plate after plate of the "all you can eat" food and to be quite frank i've never seen that in any other country that i've been to and a lot of it is'nt hunger its the "i'm gonna get my $10.95's worth" attitude..I guess those places are just as much to blame as McD's is if at all..because after all we are each responsible for what goes into our bodies..no-one forces us to eat

I went to c the film yesterday. Enjoyed it very much, was interesting to see the bit about the dinners in schools.

I took a very healthy veggie delight from Subway and a pear and some sugar free lemonade to munch my way through while that guy was throwing up his maccy d's! I felt saintly! He he he!

Then we went to pizza express for tea......
