Default I'm A Newbie!

Hello,
First of all, let me say that I am so excited to find this forum! I have been trying to lose weight my whole life it seems, and I have never had any success. This has got to be it!

My name is Laura, and I am 18 years old. I am a full-time college student (I am a junior- I started early- long story), and a waitress at a greasy diner, so my diet consists of vending machine junk, cokes, and greasy diner food. I was born and raised in the deep south, and I come from a fried-meat and potatoes kind of family.

A few months ago, however, I met the man that I am going to spend the rest of my life with. We haven't set a date yet, but I foresee a wedding within the next year. My DB is an officer in the military, and he is very active. He is in great shape and he is always suggesting outings that require me to be in shape.

I am tired of not being able to keep up with him, and I want to look beautiful on our wedding day.

I am 5'1" and 149 pounds right now, and I want to be a very toned 120 by March. I think that is a very attainable goal. I am also a size 7 in jeans, and I want to be a 5.

I do not like diets that are very restrictive, and I have never had any success with Atkins or Slim Fast type diets. I know the biggest thing for me is to stop drinking so many cokes and replace them with water, and to get moving!

I am looking foward to getting to know everyone!

Hi Laura! Ive been trying to find a buddy for awhile now, it helps so much to have to report back to someone and have support when you need it I am almost 17 years old, im a junior in high school, and my current stats are 5'3 145 lbs. My goal is 110 (i dieted before and i actually hit 108, and it felt great when i got there). Anyway, if youre interested reply back and maybe we can talk on messenger!

Hello, let me introduce myself. My name is Amy and I am a stay at home mom with a 4 year old son. I am 25 years old and have been struggling with my weight for about five years now. I am only 5'1 and weigh 180 pounds. When I met my husband I weighed 127 lbs. I would really like to lose the weight but find it hard getting motivated. I try all the time but end up failing because I give in to food to easy. I hate the way I look in pictures and refuse to shop for new clothes. I wish there were an easy solution to losing weight but I know the journey ahead of me is long. I really enjoy reading about people who have been successful in their weight loss endeavors. I find myself thinking "If these people can do it, why can't I?". I really want to lose the weight for good and not by some new weight loss gimmick. If anyone knows of any good pointers I"m all ears. And to everyone who has lost their weight successfuly........ Congratulations!!!!!!!!

Hi Alora I am Gabrielle. I am also a stay at home mom with a 16 month old daughter. I recently moved to California from Louisiana and have been struggling with weight for a while now. I am 5'2" and 155. My motivation is clothing that I want to fit into. I don'thave much that fit now since I don't want to buy anything if I don't want to be at this size for long. At my biggest I was 180. I have walked alot of that off and am trying Taebo and running and other tapes that I have including pilates. More specifically, I run, and do one of my tapes (something from beachbody) on Modays Wednesdays and Fridays. If I don't get up early enough then I walk during the day (today was 5 miles with my daughter). On Tues., Thurs., and Sat I do Taebo another tape from beachbody, and pilates. I enjoy it so far. I give it variety. I am not sure how it is working out though since I just recently started. I do all of this before my daughter and husband wakes up. Usually I get up at 4:45 to keep myself on a schedule. I think that is the easiest part... keeping it in the morning because when I wait for the afternoon I don't do it. So for me it is easiest to do it as soon as I wake up. Good luck with everything.

Hello Laura (and everybody else!), you said you want to be toned. Have you considered Body For Life? You will definitely get toned. This is a weight loss and muscle gain diet, which means you will have a nicely toned body from fat loss, not muscle loss. The diet consists of 6 mini-meals a day. 3 days a week you do 20 minutes of cardio and 3 days a week you do 45 minutes of weight training.

hiya! I'm 18, a full time college student and I'm 5"2 tall! I was clinically overweight in grade 8-9, lost the weight, and my lowest was 98lbs! But then...I gained and gained until I got up to 120lbs...which isn't much but I wasn't pleased with myself. I'm now 110lbs, but my long term goal is 105lbs because that's where I'd feel comfortable with myself! I'd love to be buddies if you wanna chat! Oh...and I should introduce you to my weight loss buddies!!! They're awesome...and the same height and weight goal! They're Kaitikat and Cyndy. They helped me so much with my weight loss! I'd be happy to be your buddy! I'm a very consistent poster lol!!!

I'm glad to see some others similar to me around here! I'm 20 years old and a senior in college. I'm 5'3" - In high school, I weighed 115. By the time I got married a year ago, I was 125. I am now around 145. I need a buddy for some help here - I need moral support but more than anything, some accountability. My family is very supportive, but not very good about getting on my case if I don't stick to my plan. See my intro for more! I'm looking forward to getting to know you all!

ahhh... im in the same boat. just need to get my phat *** from the computer and actually put my goal into action! I am a college sophmore and i struggle to keep up the school work and exercise and eating healthy, its hard as ****. But i hate having to see someone skinny and instantly get jealous. i want to be the one that ppl look at and get jealous of. pooey. maybe someday.
