THE summer if finally winding down---i can feel the fall in the air--and the leaves are starting to turn---this has been the looooooooooongest summer ever and i don't know why------i really do hate the unstructured nature of it after all ---added to the fact that it has been miserable weather wise and there has been no real vacation of more than a day here or there {usually because we HAVE to drive somewhere to pick someone up!!!!} I did enjoy boston even if it was only for a day ----even though i am feeling like a big FAT cow i am still not quite ready to "diet"---i hear ww's has yet a NEW program---Core i think they are calling it----they will lose credibility soon if they keep changing their presentation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!----- maybe i will have to wait until school starts to get serious-----------today is the exact anniversary of george's drowning and my sis says she has been crying all day----------crappy-----------my friend who had surgery last week feels like absolute crap but they are hopeful there was no spreading and maybe even no chemo so that is great news-------------that's all i got for today---WHAT's new in this big old pasture anyway????
What's new? Is summer really almost over? Can't be, I haven't even been kayaking yet. Apparently that will involve actually getting the kayak out of the barn and putting it in the water. Not to mention sweeping all the spiders out of it. That's what's stopping me.
I can't do anything but watch the Olympics anyway.

What is so compelling about these Olympics? I can't get enthused. I guess it's me. All those cute active people make me feel like a load Funny you should mention green shoes. DD is getting her senior picture taken today and her casual outfit includes green pumas. I wish she would dress up a little, but no. I can't believe how adult she is. This year...the arthritis, the job, the car etc have made an adult out of her. She's looking at fairly local colleges....all within 2 hours...I say with a sigh of relief. Bagzie, how are your sister's kids? I can't believe it's been two years. It probably seems a lifetime to her.
I hope your friend doesn't need chemo. How scary to face that so young. My brother has never recovered from the chemo....it burned the lining out of all his joints. He has constant pain. I exercised yesterday and I'm about to do it again today. Yesterday, I figured out that I could put the dvd on the picture in picture on the TV and watch a movie at the same time so it wasn't so deadly boring. It helped. I also walked yesterday, but I really hate that. I would rather be in my house embarrassing myself to the frogs and the dog only. Our summer has been a dud also. I'm paying a fortune in electric to run the pool and we've barely had weather to swim. It isn't going past 80 again today...the water is cold and nobody uses that big expensive hole in the yard. It kills me. Why, o, why hasn't Peaches told us about her job?

Last night, I made peanut noodles, a recipe featured in the current Prevention magazine. DS ate it and never wants it again. I'm having the leftovers for breakfast. How could a peanut butter recipe go wrong? Yum. Sugar, do they still not have peanut butter over there?

heyyyyyyyyyy guys---i love the olympics toooooooooo Kiki!!!!---i love ALL of it---but i adore the swimming,the diving and the GYMnasties---they seem to be embroiled in controversy all the time [like the skating which i love toooooo} Loho----my sister's children are doing a lot better----my sister however is still very sad and yesterday was tough---she is quite a trooper and would appear to the outside world as perfectly fine but it does seem like yesterday to her and the effects are long reaching--- your daughter is graduating this year!!! how exciting!!! not that i would want to live through all that again but i LOVED it at the time----- the drama!!!! the build up to the prom!!!! {the ten month build up---quite exhausting actually!!!!}------can't wait to hear about peachbat's job !!!!---SUGAR!!! are you alone in the house already!!! how wonderful!!! i can't wait for that either!!!------ i just got a note from an old client of mine { i used to sell painted jewellery} --she says she wants to order some of my christmas cards!!---interesting.----------hi wabbs,painty!! see yas-----
When we were driving the long and winding road that leads to Tofino, we went over a little bridge and there was a sign: Lost Shoe Creek #1. No one could figure out why I was laughing. Then Lost Shoe Creek #2 came along and they all thought I was nuts.
In a fit of homemakeritis I went out and bought some Pledge today, except here it's called Pronto, and I started spraying and wiping the wooden stairs that go upstairs. I guess the last time they had that treatment must have been...oh...never, I guess, and we've lived in this house for 9 years now. Boy are they shiny. Got bored half way through so the rest will have to wait until tomorrow.
Some strange woman e-mailed me during our vacation saying she found my address on the internet and asking if I could give her English conversation lessons. I said yes. I hope she's not an axe murderer. She claims she's a biologist. We'll see. Along with that I may have up to 5 tutoring students every week so I'll be rakin' in the big money. Gotta save up to move to Dogpatch.
Yesssssss, we have peanut butter but I did have to bring a 4 lb bag of chocolate chips back with me because they only sell those in itty bitty packages and by the time I get to putting them in the cookie dough, I've usually eaten them all (quality control and all that). I also made a delicious noodle thing with a peanut butter sauce the other day and they all hated it. How rude.

We're invited to the neighbours' for dinner tonight, more for convenience sake than anything else. Apparently Neighbour Lady's brother met some Canadian people when he was on vacation in Canada and now these Canadian people are here visiting and no one speaks a word of English so they want us to do it for them. Food better be good. Wouldn't it be funny if I knew them?
Can someone please tell me the many uses for goat cheese? I bought some today but I don't really know what to do with it other than eat the whole thing as it is or smear it on a cracker or something.
ohhhhhhh--i had goat cheese on a whole wheat pizza at an italian restuarant----it had a pesto base,artichoke hearts,sun-dried tomatoes and GOAT CHEESE!!!! it is to die for---AND i like it in a salad or tossed onto pasta after the sauce is on--- I LOVE GOAT CHEESE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YUMMMMMMM MMMM

You should have asked me first about the peanut noodles; DD won't eat them either. I think they're excellent, but I don't bother to make them anymore, because I seem to be the only one.

Goat cheese with olives in salad. Yum. I think you can use it any where you'd use Feta or even Bleu.
I am in an xmas scarf-making frenzy. Presently doing a loose loopy business with fringe, platinum shiny stuff and a black/white and brown ribbon. AND re-knitting a denim/tan ribbon pancho that dh laughed at the first time I modeled it for him. What does HE know. But He's the one who has to look at it, so it was worth doing it over.
I wasn't wrong. I really was getting sick last week. Ended up having to get the poor DH up in the middle of the night Friday so he could take me to ER. After a lung x-ray (for pneumonia)and cat scan (for blood clot) they decided I wasn't dying after all so they sent me home w/ pain pills and told me I had pleuresy, which is a catchall for inflamed tissue between lungs and chest wall. They don't know what causes it, and it goes away after a week. And it hurts like you have little demons in there. Why can't I just get a cold?
Now DH has some horrible chicken pox looking stuff all over his upper body. Dr. can't figure out what it is, but it's driving him crazy. We are quite the pair.

Poor Wabby!! My friend who moved to your neighborhood had pleurisy a few years back -- you can blame her for it. She also has various arthritis issues, including in her chest, so it hurt like a b . I hope you get some rest. Did your DH go swimming somewhere with ducks recently? That's what causes horrible unidentifiable rashes around here.
DD has been gathering lots of stuff for a yard sale her friend is having and she cleaned out the upper hall!! I wonder how I can get her to do the rest of the house -- she's good!

Poor Wabby! I had pleuresy when I was 18...boy did it hurt. Your DH probably has fifth disease or something of the sort. You are sicker.
We have dd's book sale today. Her last one...sob.
two things----POOR WABBY!!!!!!! that is soooooooooo terrible for you---i had bronchitus for 6 weeks once and it REALLY hurt----probably not as bad as pleuresy----we are sending you healing vibesssssssssss--------------the other thing-----poor Lushie-----i know just how you feel-----my dd caught the bus for school in front of the house---everytime i watched her leave i was thinking about this coming year when she wouldn't be there----sigh---------on the last day she took the bus,i took pictures......the time flies sooooooo and now that we have them all grown up and so smart and interesting to hang with---they get ready to leave................----let's talk to wabby about it----she got them back and that was an altogether different slant on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!_-------oh one more thing----I CAN'T STOP EATING NOW THAT I AM AWARE OF HOW FAT I AM.

Today, I went to see where I'll be working as I was interviewed in Dogpatch and the job, part of it, is elsewhere. I observed that my new tee shirt collection will not go over well there. Then I went shopping. Bought clothes I don't love but at least I feel I can be appropriate there.
I have been distracted for a big as DS had to pass a swimming test to go white water rafting. I have been affirming, praying, coaching, etc. He did fine.
