It's true, all diets work
if you stick to them, you just need to find what suits you best.
Personally, I'm low carb, it helps me no end with sugar cravings which are my downfall, plus I exercise lots and I feel like I need the protein. I still eat lots of salad though (for my 5 fruit & veg) but I try hard never to eat anything sweet, even fruit. I never thought I'd be able to manage it, but this method stops me eating as much between meals and just seems to help keep my mind off food.
I did try slimming world and the food was great, especially the green days, but no matter how hard I tried I could only lose ounces a week and got very downhearted. They were nice people though and very supportive.
The other thing I wanted to say is,I have lost 3 stone and a bit, but it has been a sorry tale of getting knocked down & getting up again and has taken longer then I thought (almost a year now). I put mine on over 7 years and I just keep on telling myself it shouldn't take quite that long to get it all off again! Try to stay focused on the long term goal, appreciate every bit of progress you make. It feels to me like I fail more than I succeed, but taking it all into account that's about a pound a week, which is supposed to be the right amount isn't it?
And exercise, which I used to loathe and now I LOVE! I think it's a great way to appreciate your body and learn to respect it. Can't wait to see the fab body that must now be lurking under this fat!
