Default Anyone ever been "spinning?"

I have a class tomorrow at 8:10am for "Spinning" where you bike in place with a unch of other people..I've never done it. Has anyone ever been spinning and have any tips/wants to share their experience? Anything would help! hehe.

Hello!

I did spinning 3 times a week for 6 months and I was in the best shape of my life! Then I moved to Spain and then back to the states and that's why I'm here now! )

All I can say is take it easy in your first class. This workout is incredibly aerobic and you will sweat like never before. You will also feel the muscles in your legs working like crazy! The only downside is your ummmm....area that is in the seat will be VERY sore for a few days. I honestly felt like someone took a bat to my bikini area! But it's totally worth it. Once you go a few times, your body totally adjusts!

This is an incredible workout. After doing if for a few months, my friend commented on how amazing my abs loooked...I had never seen my abs in my life!

Have fun! I'm going back to spinning once I'm done with Phase 1!

I have never been spinning, but have considered trying a class. You are inspiring me.

I can say from my current kickboxing class...make sure you drink tons of water!!

Funny you should bring this up. I went to sign up for spinning at the Y the other day, and had an altercation with the b*tch at the desk. Why can't people be PLEASANT!!
LB, thanks for the recommendation! I'm definitely going to try it!
Usagi, let us know how your class goes!

I've heard that it is super, super hard...and therefore super worth it.

My friend, Becky, who bikes regularly, found that she had to bring her gel seat pad in with her to spinning class because it hurt so much. After that, she was fine. She said it's a much more intense workout than actually biking outside.

Enjoy, ladies, and let the rest of us know what you think!
