I just looked in both SBD books and know I do not have the right foods to start. It seems that Breakfast has fruit and oatmeal. The snack is a hard-boiled egg. Lots of new stuff. I'll have to develop a new shopping list in the morning.
Here's the question. So many people on this website say that they only add one item every other day. These meal plans indicate adding 3 fruits on the first day - strawberries twice and a pear. What to do? What to do?
Most of us did not follow the menu plans in the book. Many of the ones who did found that they were gaining or no longer losing when they added as many new foods as the menu plans suggested. Work from the food list. Some days I eat Phase 1 food and some days I have two starches. As long as you are still losing, then you have not added too many of the new foods.
I took the advice from the South Beach Online e-mail and added only one item to my day. I had the most luscious peach after lunch. It was so good. I can't wait until tomorrow when I will have another.
Soon I will add the Near East Cous-Cous. Are we allowed only 1/2 cup per day? Or, maybe a sweet potato.
