Hi
Epiphany1968!
Congratulations on your epiphany and determination to lose weight! Hope you'll find support and help here.
It is really a great goal you're having: to love and take care of yourself better before looking for a relationship.
Sorry to hear about your back - can you do any form of exercise? If your two main problems are lack of exercise and the kind of food you're eating - what can you do to change those?

Jennifer said: what kind of diet plan are you interested in?
I'm 36, a student (grad school, psychology), and (a happy) single. I've lost 50 pounds so far, and I'm not following a set plan. I'm counting calories, keeping to 1500 a day, eating healthy (whole grains, lots of vegetables, fish, very little sugar, lots of water, etc), and exercising every day. I'm also alternating between periods where I'm loosing weight and maintaining - I have a history of yo-yo dieting and need to do everything *really slowly*.
You should check out the "
Dieting with Health Problems" forum too, and see if you can find someone in a similar situation as you.
Hope to hear from you again. Best of luck!
