Question Sugar-free Syrup

Hi! I am in my 2nd week of phase two, and I wondered if anyone had a good brand of sugar free syrup ?? The one I bought has a sour taste to it. Is there one out there that doesn't have such a taste??

As a ex-Vermonter I'm partial to ones from VT. I believe Maple Grove makes one.

Hi, Da Vinci syrups are made with Splenda and come in tons of flavors. I've heard they're really great. Here's the link to their site:Da Vinci

Thanks !! I checked for DaVinci at Giant Eagle (I'm from Ohio)...but couldn't find it. I found one by Smuckers...it has Nutra Sweet in it...(not good?) but it tastes better...and we only have it occasionally...I couldn't find any with Splenda

Hi,

I am not 100% sure, but I think you can only order the Da Vinci syrups online.

Yup, you can order DaVinci online at their website. You can also sometimes find them at TJ Maxx, or so I'm told. You might have the best luck ordering them through a small coffee shop near you...cheaper, too! I just ordered four through our little local shop...off to pick them up this weekend!

I found some at a Marshall's store. Supposed to also be at Cost Plus & other places. Some grocers carry other brands. I made a coconut cream pie with the SF coconut syrup using the recipe at Divinci's site, but my brand of SF coconut syrup is Artisan Coffee Roasters, which has Splenda in it. Next time I will add a little extra Splenda. But a non-SBD person liked their slice!

Wow, that sounds good, Chickpea! Can you post the recipe in our forum?

I just got four new syrups from a little local coffee shop. They are all DaVinci. The Cinnamon is perfect...spicy and really good. I tried the Peppermint Paddy last night and was appalled by the dark green color, but the taste was out of this world! Just like a peppermint pattie, complete with chocolate! Yummmmmm

I tried to find the recipe for the coconut cream pie online at the Da Vinci site, but now it's gone! I did make a hard copy, so will write it out in the recipes area some time this week. This is their recipes section:

You have to see what's sugar free.

Default syrup

I bought an Atkins syrup today. Are the Atkins products SB friendly?

I think it depends on the contents. After I bought a sugar free maple syrup I later found the Atkins version which has zero sugar and no or low carbs. Check the ingredients, too, for trans fat or hydrogenated stuff. Hope this helps.

Most Atkins products are not SBD friendly, but the syrups are. Other things that come to mind are the ketchup, BBQ and teriyaki sauces.

http://www.vitalady.com/ This is another place you can order Davinci syrups, but they won't ship the large bottles during the winter; however, you can order little sample bottles of certain flavors. I've ordered from them before, and their prices are better than Davincis' website.
