HAPPY BIRTHDAY TERRI!

Sorry I haven't been posting much this week...I have been lurking around, but it's been rather emotional with this IVF cycle. As most of you know, the last one didn't go so well. The good news is...it looks like we are going to get at least one step further this time. My body is responding better to the meds and my right ovary has developed potentially 4 eggs. My left ovary is off somewhere having a party on it's own and won't let the ultrasound wand find it. So, we are waiting for lab work from this morning, but it looks like we'll at least get to the egg retrieval procedure (didn't get that far last time) and hope that at least a couple of the eggs are strong enough to fertilize. This will probably happen mid/late next week. I'll let you know. Thought and prayers greatly appreciated. Boy, I bet most of you thought you'd never hear so many details of this procedure....sorry to bore you!

Any big plans for the 4th?? Jeff and I are going to NYC tomorrow for a play and then staying around the house on Sun and Mon, I will most likely be going to the Dr. a couple of those days so we'll stay close to home.

Have a wonderful day! Talk to you later!

Default Happy Birthday, Terri!

Happy Birthday, Terri!

My fellow crab! (Cancer the Crab, that is...not just another cranky ***!) So what are the big birthday plans for the day? I hope it's a fun filled day!

We're celebrating mine today (not sure HOW yet) because the boys are leaving tomorrow for Boy Scout Camp. So, where are they now? At the doctor's office, I think my son may have an ear infection. As I recall, he did this exactly one year ago, right before he left for camp. Tradition. *sigh* I told dh to take him so I could get some housework done this morning. hee hee...and here I am! Hey! It's my birthday! almost....

So, on the diabetic homefront...to show my full support, I'm following dh's diabetic diet along with him. I'm not eating any bread, potatoes, cereal, etc. either. It's like South Beach with fruit! Phase 2, I guess that is. I do want to read up on everything I can while he's gone, and formulate some sort of plan...menus, recipes, and such. I told him this isn't the worst thing that could happen, in fact, it's forcing us to eat properly. Camp is going to be tough for him...CARB CITY...bagels and donuts for breakfast usually, sandwiches for lunch, burgers and dogs for dinner. And nobody's heard of WHOLE WHEAT bread up there! We did shop yesterday for stuff for him to bring...his own stash of eats! He'll be fine.

Thin...KIDS! Don't you just love 'em? I remember when my nephew was about 3, my friend and I took him and his brother and sister apple picking. (She probably weighed then what I do now) With the most serious face, Kevin turned to her and said, "Why are you so fat?" Without missing a beat, she replied, "Because I eat a LOT of little boys!" That shut him up!!! I don't think they're being mean...just curious.

Tina...Your kitty is adorable! I love the name!

Lisa, Welcome back! Long time no see!

Lucky, When is the Mall of America adventure?

Mary...good to see more of you!

2cute...Love your honesty! You'll be back when you have something to say!

Michele! Good luck in NC!

Angela, Have fun at Moms!

Thin...keep me on the SF2 mailing list!

Terri...I got my bike back yesterday...I'll take a virtual birthday ride "with you" (in mind, anyway) later!

Scooter...how are you feeling?

Pat, Have fun with the family. Who's Neal McCoy?

Andria...As usual, your words truly hit home: "I'm afraid to succeed as well. I've used my weight as a crutch for a long time. In a way, it is the friend I've created which will stick with me no matter what I do. My fat doesn't turn on me, and with it, I find a sick sort of solace and an excuse for not living a real and genuine life."
Here's to us all re-creating that mind set!

BarbG...How's the accupuncture going?

Barb PA...How are you feeling? Miss you!

I think I got everyone....Any omissions are purely unintentional...I just have to get moving and make it look like I've done something around here! I hope that everyone has a great day and a wonderful weekend...

Keep your chin(s) up and keep smiling!

Barb! You and I were posting at the same time! Good to hear from you, and NO, it's never boring to hear about your adventures in fertility! My daughter and I are going into the city tomorrow too!!! What are you seeing? We're going to try to get tickets to anything we can. Gonna give the TKTS booth a shot, see what we come up with.

Maybe we'll bump into one another on Broadway!

Hi Kat!

We are going to see the 2pm showing of Chicago! How fun - you and your daughter going up tomorrow for your B-day. I'll keep an eye out for you!

My Dr. just called - I have to go in tomorrow morning for more labs and b/w. That's a good thing - the fact that they want to see me more often means things are happening!

Later gals!

Hi everyone!

Thanks for the birthday wishes!!!!!! I have no time to post since DH is rushing me. My sis is coming up for the big car races this weekend and they are having dinner with us tonight. But first, she wants to see where we stable the horses.

I'll be back later but could be tomorrow morning.

Have a great evening!

I'm back. My sis and her DH just left for their motel over by the race track. Its Nascar Trucks and Indy cars.

I do have to share this story because of Kat's comment about "cranky ***". I woke up at 4 am and couldn't go back to sleep until right before the alarm started going off. And it was one of those rainy days. I had a bit of grouch going this morning at work. Not that I said anything grouchy; just felt that way physically. But I'd walked by my staff about 20 times and no one said a word about my birthday. Not one. By 10:30 am, I had a bad case of "cranky ***" going about what a bunch of ingrates they were since I've done a lot this past year to help our team recognize and celebrate each other. I've spent a lot of my own money in the spirit of teamwork. And they can't remember. I'm sitting at my desk, squinting at my PC screen trying to read something and I see some light flickering in the reflection. Then I hear "Happy Birthday". I turned around and there they were with a frozen "turtle" custard cake with candles lit. I quickly went from "cranky" *** to dumb ***. I really had a good chuckle when I read Kat's comments after lunch.

It was a pretty nice day except for the off and on tropical rain we had all day long. DH came over and took me to Macaroni Grill for lunch. My favorite restaurant. We had calamari and build our own pastas. And I had to eat some of the turtle cake. It was good but it was hard to work after all the carbs between lunch and the cake. I gave the leftovers to one of my staff to give to her kids. She kept saying she felt bad for taking my birthday cake but I knew DH had something for me at home and I didn't need anymore fattening stuff in the freezer. We went to the stable and I got Tanyah out for me to ride and then my sis. But it did more downpours so it was cut short. We had a nice dinner. DH had a Baskin-Robbins cake for me since I had said sometime in the past that I've never had one and wanted one. It was good - mint ice cream with chocolate cake.

I'm not sure what's on the agenda tomorrow. Depends on the weather. I hope it quits raining. I want to get up and ride but I seem to have a flat tire on my second bike. I think I'll be changing innertubes on all tires this weekend. We need horsefeed and to get to the vet to pick up more eye medicine for Ginger. I'd also like to ride Tanyah again. Even do some housework. Tomorrow night, my two brothers, sis and I with spouses are all meeting at Lone Star steakhouse for dinner. Then more dessert for birthday and my sis's 30th wedding anniversary.

I've had three birthday lunches, two ice cream cakes, two dinners and a cherry pie (that's for tomorrow). I don't remember ever celebrating so much. Will there be any reason to get on the scale on Monday? The party will be over on Sunday morning.

I hope that we get time on the boat this weekend. The weather is supposed to be kind of iffy. We've already done the big firework thing so if we do anything it will be to go to a cookout with the barn people.

Again, thanks for all the birthday thoughts.

The kitty is adorable Tina.

The Great Mall of America adventure is something DH and I want to do when he can get a day off in September or early October. And meet the Minnesota gals!

Kat, it may be virtual bike rides if I procrastinate on changing all the bike tires.

Barb - Your ovaries need to come out to play! I'll keep saying prayers for this to all go well this time.

Hello to everyone else. I need to hit the hay.

Well, on the East coast it is officially Kat's birthday!!!

Happy Birthday Kat!

Here's a little BB King, Happy Birthday Blues tune .....

Baby lights her cigarette
And takes a look around
She says that morning sun
Sure does get her down
Nothing else to see
Just to help her lose
Those happy birthday blues

Grandpa takes a drink of wine
And tells it like it was
Tells me all he wants to do
Is what everybody does
Say he'd give the world
For a little girl
Just to help him lose

Those happy birthday blues

Happy birthday blues
Happy birthday blues
Got to pay your dues
Those happy birthday blues

In and out and on and on
Everybody goes
And where the fun with finally stops
Everybody knows
Girls it's me and you
Doing what we do
Just one way to lose
Those happy birthday blues

Thank you, sweet girls, for the birthday wishes!! And an extra THANK YOU to Thin and Barb for the snail mail bithday cards!!

I just sent my boys off to camp. They've got a three hour ride ahead of them, off to the Catskill Mountains in NY. My poor son's ear is really bothering him...he's got his ear drops and his anitbiotic to take...I just hope he remembers to take them...although pain is a good motivator.

Yesterday, my daughter and I went for manicure/pedicures and then we met the boys for dinner. I had a yen for Japanese food. MMM...sushi! Actually, I prefer sashimi...which is steamed, not raw. I had teriyaki salmon, salad, tempura vegetables, and some kind of vegetable won ton-y thing. All good. No dessert.

I'd better get moving. We were going to take the train in, but there's only an 8:30 ish train...and we're not gonna make that...seeing as I'm still in my pajamas, sitting here, and she's still in bed. I guess we'll be taking the ferry now...which means we have to drive to Staten Island first...Ooh! I just realized though...if we go to a matinee, and time it just right, we should see quite a few fireworks displays all along NY harbor, coming back on the ferry! Nice.

Okay, gotta run...Have a great day all, and a happy Fourth of July!

love to all...
