Default Tried any good SW recipes lately?

I tried to make the creamy tomato and mushroom pasta sauce out of one of the magazines recently and it was disgusting. I think it would have been nice but the recipe asked you to put sweetener in. Will try it without next time. I also made the fairy cakes from the same magazine - they were good. I am going to try the filo cherry pies too.

Anybody got any good recipes that they can share?

The ones I got from the net are in the sticky thread at the top if anyone wants to see them. Just go to the last but one post I think.

We don't have an Asda near here which is a shame as I love Asda. Hopefully they will build one soon.

Have just finished making free foods for the week ahead - lol. Thought if I get on top of it and make some things that I can eat for free on either day and keep it in the fridge (will freeze any left over) then it would at least be a start.

I have made quorn tikka masala - adapted recipe from Slimming World booklet - free on either day but best on a green day when you can have it with loads of rice.

I have also made creamy tomato and mushroom sauce (the same one that I made before but I left out the sweetener this time and it is lovely). Going to have it with pasta.

Still haven't got round to the filo cherry pies - probably just as well as they are not free and I would have probably eaten the lot - lol.

I need to get back into habit of actually making things. The only free foods I have are fruit and veg. That pasta sauce sounds nice.

I tend to stick mainly to green days as I find them easier and more filling. I have started to have the occasional red day as I have heard that you lose weight quicker by combining them. I believe that you lose quicker by having all red days but it is not advised.

Have you got the 50 best ever recipe booklet? I got the recipe for quorn tikka out of there (it was originally for chicken). As most of the ingredients are bried herbs/spices it is great for a last minute dinner.
