Morning Ellis and Ruthie..... It is beautiful and sunny here today. I think it might even warm up some. I have had my heat on almost every night and even during the day by times. I did not sleep again last night my cough is worse than it was yesterday and I even took cough medicine. I hate that stuff. Anyway it didn't even work. I slept for awhile in the lazy boy but I was up at 5:30 and that was it I am still up. I will end up in bed by 7:00 tonight I am sure. As fro my plans for the day, I think I will go do some yard work and pull some weeds. I found some strawberry vines or plants whatever you call them in my side yard which I did not know were even there. ( we have only lived here for 10 years. Duh. So I am trying to clean out the spot where they are. Be back soon got to send the kids off to the bus.
Morning ladies -- hope all is well. I am at work super early! Heading to a conference this morning...hoping they have breakfast items that I can eat as it was tooooo early to cook!
I walked yesterday -- and proud for doing so. I was sooo tired but a coworker asked if I wanted to go to the store, and I walked with her instead of driving her. After how tired and crappy I was feeling! It was only a mile and a half, but a mile and a half more than I would have walked if I just went home.
I am bloated and frustrated with the scale and am trying not to weigh until Monday. But I am a scale ho and can't help it!!!
The Girls are fed. The fuss was because a darn racoon was drinking out of the hummingbird feeder. Her was still on the deck rail, slurping away, and giving me that WTF look. I will have my camera ready next time.
Ellis, do you have to mention "theatah"? I am in withdrawal. What are you going to see?
Aw Little Chick, I'm so sorry your cold got serious. I hope you CAN make it a 7 PM bedtime tonight.
Sarah comes for a full day of gardening today. Yesterday we got the Fairground completed, she sorted pots and cleaned my grubby car yesterday but today we focus on getting plants into the ground. I managed to avoid lifting anything heavy yesterday but did not avoid the darn Chinese Buffet. They should have some pill I can take that will make me want to hurl when I even think of eggrolls!
I have fallen in love with my stone hedghog and have decided to keep him so I need to make another visit to Rue Royal for a housewarming/garden gift for tomorrow's party. I am not cooking up a storm for the potluck! I BOUGHT Ziggy's cole slaw and some frozen cooked shrimp so am taking that, plus wine, of course!
Hersh is looking at me longingly so we are going to walk down for the paper and then tackle the garden jobs. I am going to put Sarah to working on her own on the front bed while I work in the veggie garden out behind the barn. What I like about gardening is the solitude and we are inclined to chat while working together. Silence is good for my soul and behind the barn is a place of quiet except for lovely birdsong.
Good morning ladies
Ellis~ Hugs and prayers. Let's continue to keep in touch with email
Ruth~~With all that you have to do and you still are the first one here to bring the coffee I'll bet your town looks wonderful with all the new flower barrels. What a great thing to do
morning everyone!!!
sunny and warmish here today. it is my half day at work today so as soon as i get home i will start on the yard. i have a ton of weeds to pull all this rain has not been helpful.
little chick sleep is exactly what you need. hope you get feeling better soon!!
ellis- the theater sounds nice glad you are getting out with some friends, have a wonderful time!!
ruth- morning!!!
jenn- i am a scale ho too the bloat will leave soon enough, just don't let the scale get in the way of your progress.
Little Chick, so sorry your cold is worse. Get some Buckleys capsules. They have a pack with daytime and nightime capsules. They are FANTASTIC! They stop the coughing, and you really get a good nights sleep. Get some rest, sweetie.
Jenn, congratulations on the walk!
Ruth, I think we're seeing Annie Get Your Gun. It's a musical, so I won't be able to fall asleep. We used to have a regular subscription to The Little Theatre. Cozy theatre with lots of old people snoring beside you.
Thanks, Sil. I hope you finally got that email.
Jodi, at least the weeds will be easy to pull. Enjoy your half day off!!
Honestly, it is gorgeous outside right now, but any minute we could have a rainstorm that drops several inches, then sunshine again! Our weather cannot make up its mind. When I got out of class on Wed., I ended up having to take off my shoes and trudge through ankle deep water in the parking lot to get to my car. There was a huge storm while I was in class, but it was beautiful before and after. Sheesh!
Yesterday I had two red. fat hot dogs for lunch, no buns, dipped in mustard. I misread the GFGCG and thought we were supposed to have that kind, rather than the fat free that we are supposed to have. I really enjoyed it but I didn't have anything else but a salad. I had the most horrific cravings for the rest of the day!!! I went to a "luau" for our graduating seniors and was thrilled to find chicken and veggie kabobs. I had two of those even though I had a pear and cheese and 15 cashews already that afternoon. However, they simulated a volcano by building a mountain out of five gallon tubs of icecream. Can I tell youwhat a temptation that was? I didn't give in, though. I stayed OP the rest of the night though I had serious cravings. Guess it was worth it...got on the scale this morning and found myself down to 290! Wow! No idea if that will stick tomorrow...probably not, but still it was a thrill. I was sure with all those cravings that I would be up a bit today! And yes, I am a scale ho too!
Ruth, I am amazed at all your gardening! I agree, the best part of gardening is the mindfulness you have and the peace and quiet. I love becoming alert to the movements of bugs and worms and squirrels and birds, listening to the wind in the trees and the birds' songs. What a wonderful way to spend the day! Hope you are feeling less achy today!
Little Chick, so sorry that your cold is still with you! Hope you are feeling much better soon!!!
Jenn-good going on that walk! Yay for you! Hope the conference has lovely things to eat that are OP! :
Ellis-enjoy that theater visit! What will you be going to see? Hope it takes your mind off things for a bit.
Jodi-I hear you on the weeds! All this rain/sun/rain/sun is making them higher than I have ever seen them! And all sorts of weird things are growing that I have never seen in the garden before! Eeek!
Happy Friday to All! Just wish is it was payday too. Sniff, Sniff :-)
Does anyone have anything fun or exciting planned for this weekend?
Hubby, Baby Conner and I are going up to Vail for the Teva games tomorrow. I can't wait. We went a couple of years ago and had a great time. I should have plenty of options when it comes to food. I also plan on bringing my snacks (V8 juice and stuff).
Okay, better eat my Kashi Heart to Heart cereal. I am starving eventhough I had three eggwhites before we left the house this morning.
I am ROFL!!! That was hilarious Jenn!! I am definately a slave to the metal monster myself.
I hope you all have a wonderful Friday!! Ughhhh I was going to make this post longer but my 7 month old daughter has torn off her diaper and is crawling up a storm in her b-day suit so I need to cover up some vitals there before my carpet is ruined lol.
congrats laurie on getting done with school (did you graduate or are you just done for the summer? i'm sure you said somewhere but i missed it) and also your possible loss good for you on both counts!!! i usually obsess over the scale for 3 days before i actually call it a loss but that is my OCD. anyways good for you!!!!
Jodi, seems like the OCD is catching! I also wait three days before I trust the darn thing. The really odd thing is that if I am standing on it and wonder, "Could that be true", the needle actually moves up several pounds and then won't go back down, no matter how many times I get on and off again! My scale is sadistic!
Do any other scale ho's have a sadistic scale?
Actually, I have another year of school left before I graduate, but I do not have to take classes in the summer. I haven't had a real summer vacation in years and years! However, I have to work more than full time (at least 45 hours a week) during the summer, so I'm not really on vacation, but having my evenings free will be amazing! My church choir doesn't perform during the summer, so no more weekly practice for me, and no night class. M-F with no obligations! Whopee! Well, a couple, but both of them are just for me and my well-being.
Does anyone else have a less stressful schedule in the summer?
