Ok. I'm posting because I SWORE I would, but it's gonna be a fairly short one cuz I am soooo tired.

Long story short, I had to take my son to see a cardiologist, but all the tests came back fine. He is okie dokie. I was given HORRIBLE directions to Landstuhl, and after spending 40 minutes on the wrong autobahns, I threw the directions out and went on what little I knew. Found it pretty easy then. But the drive was AWFUL because of pouring rain and road construction. Then on the way back it was a slow crawl through Frankfurt since we happened to end up coming back during rush hour. I am beat. Too many hours in the car for me today. Blah.

So that's it for me tonight. I'm off to bed. Talk at ya later,
Jen

Well, Jen you must not have noticed but I have asked about you more than once - we worry, ya know.

I am happy you and your family are okay. If you continue to be so busy just pop in with a "Hidy Ho" so we know you are okay.

Tonight I have a birthday party for my niece and tomorrow my Dad. I need about a week at home alone to get all my plants planted and my yard shaped up.

I am going to shame my nephew into mowing my lawn this summer so I have time for other things, like cooking and exercising. I pay him to mow but it's not FUN! KIDS!!! Plus I need time to read Dr. Phil.

How is everyone else doing?

Are any of you computer genius's? I have a program called Printshop where I have photo's etc but it quit working. I uninstalled and reinstalled but N O T H I N G is happening. I hear it start to run but that's all. Any ideas?

AND what kind of digital camera's do you all have? I am going to get one but am looking for guidance.

Helloooo my girls...Quickie drive by post here...dh and I are going out to see Von Helsing...ooh, I love that Hugh Jackman! Then out for a steak. Sounds good to me, we RARELY get a chance to go out on a real date! My son is sulking in his room because we sent his friend home...I felt bad, but we (all) have to learn that there will be consequences for his actions. End of story. No more coddling. Today, he had a Health paper due, he knew about it for weeks, had all the info (because I dogged him daily about it) When I asked about his presentation, he shrugged that he "forgot" the paper...left it home. tick tick tick....I wish there was a time bomb smilie. These will have to do:

This too shall pass...I will NOT get an ulcer (or gain weight) over this!

Uh oh...Mr Patience is tapping his toes...I think he's hungry!

Back later...or tomorrow...Love to all....

HIdey Ho Neighbors !!!
I got to get in a 30 minutes water workout this afternoon.
It was pretty cold getting in... but once you start working out it warmed up pretty quickly. I was soooo happy. I just LOVE the sun glistening on the water. It is suppose to be in the upper 80's all weekend so I should get a workout in for the next couple of days ... then rain forecasted.
My husband invited our kids over tomorrow for a cookout and swim party. I was not very happy about it... I love my kids.. but I wanted to work on the house and get the some more flowers planted and clean the garage. Now I have to spend the morning getting ready for them in the afternoon. I know it makes me sound like an old grinch... but men have no idea what is required of the wife when they invite 10 people over for a swim party. I am trying to "relax" about the whole thing. If I don't get flowers planted it is not the end of the earth. If my utility room stays dirty.. so what. My family should be more important than exterior knick knacks. But... I am a perfectionist that really wanted everything perfect before the wedding.

Lucky.. I am computer illiterate so I can be of no use to you. Sorry.
Jen... glad your son is okay
Syn... Hope you get back to norm soon. We miss you.
Kat.. sound like a nice evening you have planned. Enjoy !!!
Meliss... did you get downstairs and doing that walking ?

I am off to clean up dinner mess. I get soooo tired of cooking dinner.
I would be totally happy with a bowl of cereal if it were just me.
I should not be complaining... hubby does a LOT more for me than I do for him.

Just got home from my nieces birthday party.

My niece turned 18. She is so quiet, you sometimes forget she is even around. Apparently, as friends go, opposites attract. If I hear one more scream or giggle tonight I won't be responsible for my actions!!!!

Tomorrow is planting day - besides cleaning and visiting Dad. My hope is I can catch up on my reading Sunday.

I know how you feel, 2Cute. It's that CHANGE thing again! In my mind I get my day all planned out and am so excited to get things done and then someone or something comes along and changes it all. I, too, am trying to make sure I put "humans" before the "things" I think need to be done!

Humans before things... humans before things ... humans before things.
If I repeat that 300 times maybe it will sink in. LOL

Mornin chickies!

First, thank you to everyone for your support. I really appreciate it. This has really been the hardest time in my life. But I'm doing OK.

I notice a lot of you are reading Dr. Phil? I watch him on TV sometimes in the morning. What do you think of the book?

Lucky: I bought a Fuji FinePix 2600 digital camera. It was about $250. I couldn't be more pleased with it. I've had it for over a year now, and it takes the most amazing pictures!! On the highest setting it's hard to tell it's even a picture. It's so clear you feel like you could just about walk into it LOL. It's easy to use.

I haven't been actively trying to lose weight. I've truely had too much else going on. Exercise? NOT! But, I'm lucky that I haven't gained. I am pretty much just bouncing around the same two pounds. I fear that I'm going to have to go see the doc about my ulcer though. It's been real bad lately and I'm downing an awful lot of Mylanta. I just don't want to have another endoscopy and I KNOW they'll want me to have one so I keep putting it off.

Anyhoo girls, I'll try to check in more often. Hope you all have a good weekend!

Jen

Oh that......

Well, that was a total fiasco. I called to make a follow up appointment and the doctor that had said he was going to do it wasn't there anymore!! He told me to come back and see him and he KNEW he wasn't going to be there!! How screwed up was that??? So then I asked the nurse if there were any other doctors there that did the surgery. (There being the US hopital in Wurzburg). She said that yes they had one other doctor that did the surgery, but that he was leaving in July. So I went the next day to see him. He said there was no way he would do the surgery until I was at least 18 months post op from the bypass, which is January of '05, and of course he'll be long gone by then. So for right now, there's not much I can do. I'm really bummed cuz I look like one of those dogs with the really loose skin....a sharpei???? I will just wait until I am 18 months post op, and see if they have a new surgeon there to do it. If not, then I'll have to wait until we move back to the states and see what I can do on that end. We are scheduled to move in August of '05. Could happen sooner or later. As we all know, nothing is definate in the military life.
So that's the deal with that. Bummer huh?
Anyhoo, I'll talk at ya later,
Jen

I don't know when I will be returning here.

I am off to the land of planting, digging, raking, cutting, shoving and watering. Oh, and Dad's birthday later today.

I think I need another after seeing all I plan on doing today in writing.

Shoving???? Who you gonna shove??? that's Jersey talk...

I'm also off to do some more planting. I put some portulacas and some zinnias in yesterday. Still have my border plants to put in; begonias, marigolds, ageratum...I did some weeding, transplanting, raking, trimming...I found a little patch that I'm going to try to do a "red, white and blue garden" with some seeds I have; poppies, baby's breath and forget me nots...doesn't that sound cute? I really should scurry around the house and tidy up before I go outside to "play" again. No problem with exercise today!

But, it sure is chilly out there...I'm freezing, (but jealous!) thinking about 2cute splashing around her pool!

Maybe I'll have one more too!

Hi - I tried to post earlier this morning and discovered that my sweet little dog has chewed through the keyboard cable. So, I am on my laptop for now and off to buy a new keyboard. Grrr.... I was up early and out with a group of neighbors cleaning up the common areas of the neighborhood - picking up trash and what not. It's a beautiful day here and was nice to get out and talk to people and meet some new neighbors. Now I just finished untangling the mess of cables for the computer so that nothing else gets chewed up.

We are off for lunch and some errands....we are going ring shopping. Since we are renewing our vows we want a symbol of the day. Jeff never wears his original wedding band so we are going to try to find a new one that he likes and is comfortable for him. He upgraded my wedding set last year so I am going to find a nice right-hand ring.

Lucky - I use Print Shop but have never had a problem like you mentioned. I asked hubby and he's not sure either. Maybe when Geri gets back her techie son will have suggestions. As for the digital camera, I have a Kodak cx6330. It's great. I also had a Kodak 3600. My favorite software for picture editing is Microsoft Picture it. I also have a program called Creative Memories that enables you to make slideshows and such. I just make a slideshow with music on a CD that you can also watch on a DVD player. It's pretty cool. Good Luck.

Ok, I am going to drag hubby out by his ears - I can't get him off his computer and I am hungry!

Love Ya'll!
Barb

Cool busy, busy, busy...

I hope everyone is having a fun Saturday! I've done yard work all day...well...after I finished housework...but it's all good, because I got dh to help me with some stuff, AND, best of all...I did not have to stop in the middle of a job to drive somewhere...(scout things, baseball...the usual)

So, we're thinking about what to do for dinner...

I am NOT cooking! I'm off to wash all my yard dirt and grass away...

Did everyone see Survivor? I don't want to comment in case you don't know who got the boot. But I have to say this: As much as he has annoyed me the ENTIRE game, I've got to say that Boston Rob has certainly outwitted, outlasted and outplayed everyone else! He'll have a tough time with that jury though!

Okay, I'm really going now.

Happy early Mother's Day to all you MOTHERS out there!!!
