Default New to board! Little worried about my diet..

Hey guys, for those of you who have herd of my story before, you will probably remember me as a the fat little kid with no knowledge =( I am new to this board, but I have posted on boards like worldfitness.com =)
Unofortunately to say, I still am that.
Lets break this down =) 58 Days ago, I was 5'8, 188 lbs. 16 yrs old.
Now, I am 165 ( Scale says 160 but I dont trust it.) I have not gained any muscle, though I have increased a LITTLE on one type of core lift ( I usually do Power Clean, Bench, Push Press, Squat, and some complementries for super setting.)
I run every day, lift every other, and also Mountain Bike. My running usually is at a 10min / mile or so pace for 2.5 miles.
My diet usually is:
Breakfast: Special K Cereal
Snack1: Half a Tuna/Turket sandwhich / Apple
Lunch: Other Half / Apple
Snack2: 2 Peices of break ( 1 with peanut butter on it )
Dinner: Brown Rice / Grlled Chicken Breast / Veges
Before I go to sleep: 3 Egg Whites

They vary, and I usually try a sample of my parents food. Now, my parents have been on my case forever, they keep on saying I'm losing weight too fast, and I will get sick. Now I dont know if it is the affect of my parents words, but Im getting worried =( I dont know if if increase my food intake, if Ill get fat again, and if I am losing muscle, because my friends have same weight class as me and are gaining strengh while im stil the same. I am worried for myself now also because I dont want to get sick, as my teacher says if I lost weight too fast I lose muscle tissue, including the ones in my intestine. Does anyone have any advice? I really would love some.

P.S.
BASICALLY, I just want to know if I am in danger of an health risk?

Thanks any sorry for the long arse essay!
-Gordon

Gordon -
I think you should figure out how many calories you're eating. After you do that - you can break it down by carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. In order to gain more muscle and get stronger, you need to be eating quite a bit of protein - maybe 25-30% of your calories should come from protein. You should limit the calories from fat that you're eating. Carbs are very good for people who are physically active and it sounds as though you are. www.fitday.com will do all the work for you, you just need to enter in the food your eating - and be very honest, remember, if you cheat on your program you're only cheating yourself! After you figure out how many calories you're consuming, then you can figure out whether or not you need more. There are some good calorie needs calculators out there, do a google search for one. Hope this is helpful!

Gordon - so you've lost about 20 pounds in about 2 months - I think that's ok. People usually aim for a 2 pound a week weight loss - so in 8 weeks that's 16 pounds - I think you're probably ok there. The only thing that kind of worried me about your situation is that you're also doing some hardcore weight training - which means you're building muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat, so perhaps your weight shouldn't be dropping as much. Its a really tough question - do you have a family doctor that you can ask about this? I would hate to give you bad advice!

Oh no no! Not bad advice! I do have a physician, but hes a weirdo. Everytime I ask him to help me on my diet, give advice, ALL he says is, "Do the S's." (Sugar, Starch, Sticky, Sweet, Seconds ). Which doesnt help me that much. Im so confused!

gordon...

first things first... boys lose weight faster than girls. and first time losers lose faster than others. you're losing on the high end of the curve, but these could be some contributing reasons.

BUT... PLEASE CHECK OUT YOUR PROTEIN and calorie INTAKE!!!! fitday.com will help you tremendously. don't drop below about 1600 calories [maybe 1400? i'm clueless when it comes to males losing weight!!!!] And make sure you're getting enough protein.

and with the weight workouts you're doing, how can you NOT be gaining muscle, provided you're getting enough protein?

sounds like you're on the right track, but might need a little tweaking here and there. the LWL folks have huge experience in this stuff..
