Well I went to the gym this morning and they got new individual tv's. They have had them but the went with a new company and they are bigger than the ones before...the problem is that the are so close that it makes me queezy!

I lasted about 15 min and had to bail. I came home and did 30 min on the eliptical and gave up. i will do it again tonight while I watch my guilty pleasure of my big fat obnoxious fiance (very funny if you have not tuned in)

So not quite there but cretainly on my way for the day....
Peach you make me laugh!
Jif I would NEVER throw things at you! (but hiding behind you so I gdon't get hurt!)

Are we talking booties today? There really should be a booty smilie, don't you think?

I worked on mine today, let me tell you. It was Leg Day at the gym for me, so I started with barbell squats. Then took 15# dumbbells up to our indoor track and did lunges for a few laps and then some more without (hands on hips). Then hack squats. Then leg extensions and curls. Then tried to walk down the steps and drive home.

I'm planning on a half hour on the bike later. It helps to stretch out the muscles and keep them from being so sore the next day.

Got to tell you ladies that I am AMAZED at how leg exercises like lunges and squats have reshaped my booty. These formerly 57" hips would not be sliding in size 4s without them, I can assure you.

Who else shook their booty today?

LWL = the Ladies Who Lift forum here at 3FC. It's a forum focused on weightlifting and bodybuilding and programs such as Body For Life. I guess you could say that we're kind of gym rats , but we've got lots of people who are just starting out with exercise and weights (like Pookie ).

It's located right under the Exercise forum and everyone's welcome!

Yes you can crown me queen if you wish, I am good at the endurance, I have read over and over it is not all about the resistance but about durration as well. I personally find it mindless and therfore if I can occupy my mind on other things like a movie or reality tv I can do really well. it is the weights I hate and know I really need...

I think if jif got and eliptical as a gift she would cry, for a good long time mind you, but she may think better of it than a clothing rack...

LOL!!!!! at least i don't fall off of it anymore!!!!! and as long as i have a supply of vioxx, i'm fine. am having trouble understanding that if it's supposed to be low or no impact, WHY DO MY KNEES ACHE????? but i have also discovered that if i put my feet way back in the steps, rather than all the way in the toe, the knees are more comfortable.

and every single one of them was taken when i got to the gym!!! SO i did a 15 minute bike warm up.

and then abs.. adducts.. abducts. a couple of shoulders. a couple of lower back. a couple of upper back. cable chest. reclining biceps. french press triceps. pec deck. leg press. leg curls. rotary calf.

and then stretch. steam room. jacuzzi. shower. chat in the locker room. home.

meg... i can't believe you LUNGE your way around the track!!!!! i take the big blue ball into the carpeting on the inside of the track and do ab crunches on it. after doing machine crunches. and i take a 10 pound weight and alternate abs with french press. efficient, huh??? and that's MY use for the indoor track!!!

and L... you are my idol!!!!! those ellipticals look so darn easy and fun, but good heavens!!! i always wondered why the ladies get so sweaty on them, and THEN I TRIED IT!!!! at this point, it's the challenge i'm interested in. i NEVER thought i'd see the day that my cardio wasn't enough to get my heart pumping!!!! i've gone through walking, bike, hiking, and now the elliptical????? good heavens!!!!!!

gotta run over to LWL and see what pookie's up to..

and here i thought i'd hear all about oxycise... and what does the woman do???? take up weights instead!!!!!

Default Clean Eating

Pookie -- let me tell you what 'clean eating' is all about ... it's bodybuilder talk for eating minimally processed lean proteins, complex carbs and good fats ... as little sugar as possible. You could walk up to the biggest muscle bound hunk in the gym or your dumbbell sales guy and talk about 'eating clean' and he would know exactly what you're talking about.

So, let's see .... Pookie has dumbbells and Pookie talks about clean eats .... I think that makes Pookie an offical bodybuilder now

Jif -- I may lunge around the track now but started off barely able to walk around it. Like you always say, take a few steps today ... just start and who knows where you'll end up?
