Default learning the hard way

ok. corned beef is OK. so is swiss cheese, even melted. rye toast is fine. sauerkraut is difficult. but put them all together [without the kraut] and i'm tossing in the bathroom!!! like right now.

other hard lessons: finding something else to manage the stress at work. nora's pretzel bin is NOT the answer. SF candies in the conference room help. so does a large selection of teas. crackers and chips... ummmmm. nope!!!

who's next??? what are the hard lessons you're coping with??

Hey, Jif:

Try diced cabbage, cooked, instead of the kraut. It doesn't have the same zing, but it's not as stringy.

Right now, not thinking of REAL FOOD is my biggest challenge! One more day of clear liquids, and then, onward to SOUP! WOWEE!!

I have learned to measure everything I eat. One day while instant messaging my daughter and keeping the conversation going for over an hour, I nibbled on shredded carrots! and continued to nibble ---too many shredded carrots. Oh course after a few hours of discomfort I dumped.

1. It never tastes as good as we imagined that it would.

2. Even though we think food will make us feel better, it only ends up making us feel worse.

neat post.

I can't just sit down with family and friends and eat a meal. I have to concentrate on how much food goes in my mouth and concentrate on chewing or the food gets stuck and it hurts like the dickens.

There comes a point where wls is not a miracle. You (read me) have to guzzle your water and exercise. (gasp) Which by the way I am doing...I did a program on the treadmill today and had to break out in a jog...I thought I was going to die or at the very least trip over my boobs! Yesterday I walked with dh and froze my face off.

At what point does it become fun? Well, I guess never but I am into the challenge of beating that darn machine!

Peach, it's taken me a full year to start enjoying the exercise. I don't know if it's actually fun yet, but at least it's not such a chore any more.

My hard lesson is trying to learn patience. I feel like I'm going to tear my hair out soon (or someone elses!) waiting to hear from the insurance company. And it's only week 3 - this could take up to 6 weeks.

Keep your fingers crossed!

Chickadee for you: and a cause you're cute...even if you would rip my hair out.

exercise...hmm I started out so good. Doing it every day, then cut back to 3 times a week. Now it's been a week and I havn't touched my gym equipment. I don't understand why, use the excuse of being tired. But I know that is just an excuse.
I promise myself I'm going to do it right after these posts.

Hmmm, lesse, hard lessons: 1.Finding out what form of exercise I actually enjoy and WHEN. That combo absolutely insures that I do it. 2. Noooo, if it is one of my "trigger" foods, one taste will not be enough, not even THIS time! It will be no different than all the other 10,000 times. Once it is in my mouth I won't stop. What is the definition of stupidity? Repeating the same behavior and expecting different results? Yup, that's me alright, at least when it comes to sugar!
Good topic Jiffy!
