Well, the weekend was a bust for me. It involved too much wine, plus cake and pastries. But, I'm back on track today and hoping to eat a few less than my target. We'll see. I put in my time on the bike this morning and increased my duration to 40 minutes. I hope you all had good weekends.
Carla - sorry to hear that your weekend was a bust but way to go on getting on the bike today AND increasing your time - 40 minutes is a heck of a workout, girlfriend!
I had a not-so bad weekend. I did not weigh in on Saturday - there was just too little time for us to get on the road at 9:00. I did OK food-wise - we brought lunch for the road so we didn't have to have roadfood. There was a gathering at one of our friend's houses in the Philly area and everyone brought something. I did have a few small indulgences but only used about 10 FP's. I worked out for about 2 hours on Sunday morning which helped earn some AP's but I did have a few drinks when we got to AC and while I didn't have dessert at dinner, I did have a steak. All in all I am left with about 13 FP's for the rest of the week. Not great but do-able. The good news is TOM finally arrived so the PMS munchies won't make things tough.
CeCe- wine and cake... the devils foods!!
You need to splurge every once and a while...
Judy- You got rid of the muchies.. mine are raging full blast.. hopefully mid week will solve that!
My weekend was good.. I did my sunday morning weigh in.. down another 3 lbs.. woohoo! So, I've dropped 6 in 3 weeks.. a good 2 lb a week pace! I had training for work yesterday.. ooey, gooey, cheesy pizza.. a whole 3 slices.. yikes.. thank god for FP's! Anyway, I hope yall have a great week..
Thanks for passing the PMS along everybody - just what I needed.
Carla - ah well, weekend's history. Good for you for upping your workout time!!
Judy - glad to hear you had a nice trip. With all the exercise points you earn, I'm sure you'll be able to stretch out those flex points for the rest of the week.
Paragoddess - what a great loss! You're doing great. The pizza sounds delicious.
Tonight is the night the treadmill stops acting as a handy storage rack and gets dusted off and used - I have 20 workouts to cram into February. You don't want to hear about the Haagen-Daaz episode last night. I've used flex points into 2006. Have a great day...
Paragoddess - great loss! Sorry to hear about your munchies - I hope they leave soon.
Karen - so did ya' dust off the treadmill? I know you did and you will get 20 workouts in this month. Sorry to hear about the Haagen-Daaz but it's over and done with - I know you know that!
I've had a slightly stressful two days - about grad school. My curriculum development course met for the second time on Monday night and I was disguested. The adjunct prof is teaching the history of ed. To make a long story short, I wasted no time in speaking with the head of the dept and am going to switch classes - to Thursdays from 6:40 - 8:30 - NOT my favorite day or time but a student in my other class was raving about the prof who teaches that section and I figure I'd better go with a more know quantity, having lost 2 weeks already with the jerk in the Monday class.
I have not eaten through the stress although the last exercise I did was Sunday! I've tried to get up early yesterday and today to get some yoga or Pilates in but haven't gone to sleep early enough. I plan on doing something when I get home today - I have to go to school to sign the drop/add card and get to the bookstore to get the textbook(s) but I shouldn't be home too late. I had a few FP's last night but still have 6 left through Friday so I should be OK.
Judy - Good for you for speaking to the head of the department and switching classes rather than just suffering silently through the class Monday night. (Which is what I'd probably do, wuss that I am.) And good for you for not eating through the stress. No workouts since Sunday? I'm not going to have to make the drill sargaent drop and give us 50, am I? Just kidding - I know how hard it is to drag yourself out of bed early when you haven't had enough sleep. Sounds like you did really great over the weekend. Good job!
Paragoddess - Congrats on another great loss! Sorry to hear the munchies got ahold of you.
Karen - How was the treadmill? Getting back on is the hardest part, isn't it. Once you clear that hurdle, the rest gets easier. Sorry to hear about the run in with the Hagen Daaz. I'm glad we never got in the habit of buying ice cream, otherwise I'd be a goner.
I'm paying for the weekend with a 1.8 lb gain. I deserve it. I've been hanging around the 250s playground way too long. Time to move on, work hard, and get in the 240s (and hit my first 10% once and for all). No workout yesterday as I was gone all morning, but I did my 40 minutes on the bike first thing this morning. Now I just have to figure out what I want to make for dinner tonight. Nothing is inspiring me, though I suppose it will have something to do with chicken.
Have a great day.

I tried to post twice this morning, but my posts evaporated.
Judy, sorry to hear you've been stressed about your courses, but happy to hear you haven't been munching as a result. Hope you'll enjoy the new prof much more.
Carla, bummer about the gain. Considering you had such a big loss last week, it's probably just your body looking for some equilibrium. Anyway, good attitude in getting serious about hitting the 10% mark.
I did indeed dust off the treadmill last night. I did a 30 minute hill interval and even jogged for 5 minutes while on a flat phase. It felt good to exert myself. I have an appointment with it later too.
Drum roll please......................minus 2 lbs this morning!
Carla - sorry to hear about the gain. I agree with Karen though - probably just your body adjusting after a big loss last week. LOL about making the drill sargeant drop and do 50!! I will be very surprised if I don't see a gain this week, with TOM and all. Still, I'm going on Saturday to weigh in (I have to - next Saturday is the state test) and from here on out, I'm with you on getting down to work. I've been where I am too long and need to get into a lower decade and make my 10% too!
Karen - Way to go on that great loss! Good for you for getting on the treadmill and not only doing hills but some jogging! Did you get on for the second day in a row? I have to say that this drill sargeant hasn't had to do a lot of screaming - maybe I should turn it on myself!
I did do a yoga workout last night when I got home from changing courses (you have to see the bursar, then the registrar....blech) and buying books for the course tonight (2 books $168 - of course, there were no used ones left!) I snacked a bit last night so I have only 2.5 FP's left through Friday but tonight my dinner is PB on a bagel at school. I doubt I'll be home before 9:00 so I have a feeling that when I get home I'll make lunch for tomorrrow and then get ready for bed! I tried to get up early this morning to do a little Pilates but I didn't get to bed early enough last night. Oh well, I have every intention of exercising Fri, Sat and Sun so that will make 4 times this week. Maybe when I'm relaxing a little tonight, I can bring a pair of dumbbells up from the basement and do a little upper body.
Judy - you don't need a drill sargeant - you need the snack police! I hear you about the text books. I've spent a small fortune in the last year. How far away is your 10%? You must be close.
Yup, I did get on the treadmill again last night. Did 35 minutes of a 45 minute weight loss program - my best friend phoned with 10 minutes to go and rescued me. I even got up and took the dogs out for a 30 minute romp this morning (they romped, I trudged). Food is good, water is marginal. Need to drink 2 big bottles at work today. Speaking of which, I should get off my butt and get myself to work. I have a meeting in 40 minutes!
Judy- what are you going to Grad school for.. sound something education route..
Carla - Glad to hear you're jumping back on track.. my weeks been rather difficult.. stress eating has been my way this week.. Next week will get better.. hehe.. that and I've had to make a points transition.. I lot 2 this week when I dropped into a different tier.. 2 points a day makes a big difference.. maybe thats only in my mind.. who knows.
Karen - Good job with the treadmill.. I tried to use the one we got at our firestation but its missing a piece so the front arm thingys and the computer keep falling down so I could only do 5 minutes the other day but hopefully they'll get it fixed soon!
Paragoddess - Hope they get the treadmill fixed soon so you can use it for more than 5 minutes!
Got up with Mike at 5:45 and got my treadmilling in for the day. Now I can go into a nice Friday evening stupor after work knowing that I've been virtuous!
Karen - Congrats on a great loss and on getting back on the treadmill. You especially deserve a pat on the back for getting up early and getting your treadmilling in. Way to go! I think you're right about the gain. That, and my rings were tight, so probably some water was involved. Whatever the reason, I want it back off.
Judy - Good for you for getting in some yoga after dealing with the change of classes. Sounds like a pain - I bet the yoga helped ease the stress. Gosh that's a lot of money for two books. I remember thinking how expensive text books were when I was in grad school in the 80s - now I think I'd go into sticker shock.
Paragoddess - Those two points do make a big difference, at least mentally. At least to me they do. Don't worry, you'll get used to the new target and you'll stop missing them. - just in time to lose two more. :-) Hope they get the treadmill fixed soon.
I've been doing ok the past couple of days. I used a handful of flex points last night, but on the bright side, we had Chinese for dinner and instead of ordering my own favorite - kung pao chicken - I just had a small portion of John's pork sub gum, so I felt rather virtuous. I got in workout yesterday, but only for 30 minutes as I was pressed for time. I had every intention of getting on the bike today, but my lower back is bothering me quite a bit and I don't think I could take sitting on the bike. I may give it a shot tonight, or else I'll try to get in my fourth workout for the week on either Saturday or Sunday. No plans for the weekend, so hopefully that means no challenges.
