Default Daily Thread -- Friday, January 30

Rise and shine, everyone! It's a big, beautiful Friday!

What does everyone have on tap for today? School here, then dinner out before grocery shopping with the family. Just another mundane day for which I am grateful to God for.

Kat -- Chips and candles sound cool! I might have to look into those. Enjoy your manicure and pedicure.

Jennelle -- Have a good day, hon. I like what Kat said about white knuckling it for awhile. The few times I've actually followed through with a white knuckle situation I've been blessed beyond measure! Prayers coming your way today.

Ellis -- Y or not today? Whatever you do, have a good one!

Chris -- Did you get your yoga in? Can you fit in another bubble bath before you go back to work? Nothing like a nice, hot bath to relax you. Wish I had time for one right now!

Sarah --

I'll check back in later today.

Love to all,
Christy

Good morning, Christy!
How are things with your new sponser?
My DS has a PD day today, so we're home together. No Y today. But I'm determined to get back on track with the exercise and get in there three days a week.

Kat, you mean some people are actually abstinent for a whole YEAR!?!? And I can't even go two days!!

Rushing to get my daughter off to school... back later...

love and hugs to Chris, Jennelle, Kat, Sarah... and Christy, of course!

Default Change of plans...

Hey, Ellis! What's PD stand for?

Well...so much for the working thing. Got offline earlier and glanced at the TV and saw that schools were closed again today! So the girls and I are headed to Wally World to get groceries and *whispering* maybe to shop at a scrapbook store, too. After that, I'm seeing a big bubble bath, a good book, and some chores I can get ahead on for next week. Love it!

So far, things with the new sponsor are going great. She's very open and is not only willing to get an email from me daily, but is encouraging me to do so in the am and pm. I really need that! Even though I can be quite chatty, I really don't go on and on in an email. I just needed the security of knowing I could touch base with someone daily and get a response...no matter how brief! I have to admit that I felt a little foolish needing to make a change so early in the game, but I know I've made the decision that was right for me now.

Okay, 'nuff for now! I'll check back in later with you lovely ladies!

Hugs,
Christy

Hi all,

This will probably be my only chance to check in until Monday since we are having guests. I hope everyone has a fab weekend!

Christy: Has that been a whole week of snow days? Wow! Have fun with the kids.

Ellis: A year is possible - One Day At A Time.

Chris and Jennelle: Morning, girlies, wherever you are.

OK, off to get some stuff done and then a relaxing manicure/pedicure. Have a wonderful weekend!

PD day... Professional Development day. You know... you teachers get to go to seminars and do other interesting things while your students sit at home and watch TV.

Kat, have a wonderful time with your guests!

Where the hay IS everyone!

Ellis -- "Seminars and other interesting things" usually translates to listening to some administration type (aka he-who-has-never-taught) drone on and on about what we should be doing and how we should be doing it. All of this can be accompanied by coffee, juice, and stale Krispy Kreme donuts.

What have I accomplished on this fine snow day? (And Kat, we only had four snow days this week! I actually worked yesterday! ) Well, we've gotten groceries, done a bit of laundry, and I just finished reading a good book. (John Grisham's The King of Torts...never read any of his books before, but I actually enjoyed it.) Still plenty of time for that bubble bath later. Life is GREAT!

Kat -- Have fun with your guests! Sounds like a great weekend ahead.

I'm with you, ellis. Things have been verrrry quiet around here lately. Come and chat, girls!

Default Good Morning! Oh, its 1400, GOOD AFTERNOON!

Hi EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!

I got my Yoga in yesterday, but I did not go to meeting last night. I sat here and helped my son with his homework. He was doing equivalents, and I spent all this time showing him, listening to him whine and throw a fit, to find out there was a table for him to use in the book that gave the answer "WELL I didn't get what the table was for MOM!" That little if I didn't love him so much

Instead I talked on the phone with a couple of ladies. They are so awesome and funny, just like all of you Alot of my non-willingness to go to the gym right now has to do with the weather. I know I will be back, I always am, but it feels like an excuse. For now I will do something (including aerobics ) for 20 min- 1 hour daily until that willingness comes back. I am not forcing myself anymore, it feels like the disease when I do. Of course a week of doing more than Yoga in front of the TV might increase my willingness quite a bit

Christy- If you want anymore Grisham books I have a pile I would be happy to send you! I am so glad you have found a much more supportive sponsor!!!!! YOU ARE SO NOT NEEDY, YOU WANT RECOVERY and to get it YOU HAVE TO ASK FOR WHAT YOU NEED!!!!! You let me know when you have a month of abstinence in Christy and Jenelle I will get you hooked up with Chips if ya'll e-mail me your adresses. In fact that offer goes for anyone willing to try the OA program!

Ellis- So are you and your son going to do anything special together? When you ready Ellis the food will fall into place! I am often blown over a lady recieved her 14 year Chip the other day. I think the first year is the hardest. One of the girls that has 3 years of abstinence shared with me that the first year she could not get more than 30 days in, and then she did Step 4 and everything fell into place. I think letting go of our will is a struggle.

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;

Taking as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.
-Reinhold Neihbur

Kat- WE WILL MISS YOU THIS WEEKEND!!!!!!

Jenella and Sarah HAVE A BEAUTIFUL DAY!

Much love to everyone of you! (Was that chatty enough Christy?)
Miss Chris

Chris -- That was a valiant effort in the chatty department. You did good, girl! I'm glad you've come up with a plan for your exercise. Sounds like a good one. I will certainly take you up on your chip offer when I get in 30 days of good, clean abstinence. I've slipped a few too many times lately to feel comfortable counting right now. I'm very close to declaring peanut butter off limits because I feel so drawn to it here lately. No bingeing, but not as clean as I want and need. I'm in baby steps mode, I guess. But I'm okay with that! I'm working hard and it will come; I know it will. I have faith in God who is much stronger than me and my stubborn will.

One more thing and I'm getting off this 'puter for a good long while! I went to an online meeting. I was late because it took me awhile to figure out how to get in. And I didn't understand exactly what was going on. (Not up on chat rooms...) But I was there and I will go back! (Baby steps...baby steps...remember that movie What About, Bob?)

Okay, I'm really leaving and I won't be back until late tonight or early in the morning!

Love,
Christy

Hey Girls...

Starting to feel a little more like myself, but that might just be because it's Friday!

I put up the February calender in my room after school and I thought, "Wow! FEBRUARY!" Where has the time gone?

I haven't called my sponsor yet, but I will call her tonight.

I am still abstinent by the grace of God. Today makes 40 days of abstinence. (Kinda like Noah....it rains for 40 days and 40 nights and everything's fine again. )

Guess what my daughter is selling for band? Cheesecakes, pizza kits, and giant tubs of cookie dough!
