Angry Weekend on The Beach - Jan. 17 & 18

Good weekend morning, Beauties!

It feels like the woodstove didn't hold last night so this will be short as I have to go do my pioneer ancestors act! Brrrrrr. The Girls are quiet so they may be frozen stiff from the cold - NOT! The furnace heats all of the house except the back room and I know they have snuck up on the couch and are cuddled together sharing fur.

Not much going on around here this weekend - and I'm glad. There has been a constant stream of visitors and phone calls this week so I'm hoping for an anti-social weekend - except for Church.

I plan to sit at the kitchen table this morning with a coffee and work out meal plans for the next few weeks. This coming week is my last semi-free week before rehearsals start every night on the 25th. I'll need made ahead or easy dinners to cut back on some of the stress. I need a cook!

Back later to see what you are doing this weekend.....besides keeping warm. in a fur blankie!

Hi, Ruthie. I'm fed up of being cold. DH turned the heat down last night for the first time in DAYS, and it's freezing down here. I want to be warmish. I want to be able to go outside and SMELL something! I'm eating badly because of the cold (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it), I'm not exercising because I've still got this blasted cough/cold, and I'm NOT happy.

Sorry... I hope everyone has a really good day.

Good morning Chicks, and Happy Weekend! Okay, so it isn't MY weekend...I'll get over it! I have been super busy at work the past couple of nights. Don't the criminals and miscreants know it is cold and nasty outside?

Freezing rain here...made driving home from work a lot of fun. Just glad most people are safe at home and not on the roads. I am starting to really hate winter. I have a sneaky suspicion I'm not alone on that score. You poor babies with the sub-zero freezes...my heart goes out to you.

Ruth, I don't blame the girls for huddling up and sharing fur. My doggage won't even go out...they don't even like the LOOK of the freezing rain. And this is after all night in the house....I had better watch them like a hawk or they'll find an alternative!

Hey Ruth, can you plan some meals for me? I don't even know what I'm having for breakfast today, much less dinner next week! My DH plans somethings, but not in detail. I guess as long as we all get fed...

I am gearing up to start Phase 1 on Monday. I need to get with the program, literally and figuratively. My depression has lifted (thank God for the marvels of modern medicine!) and I am out of excuses. So...look out Beach, here I come...again! LOL! With any luck (and a lot of work) maybe I can get back to where I was in November by doing phase 1. That would be nice, but I'll take what I can get. I lost 10 pounds the first time around, but I have less to lose now so probably can't expect the same results. Oh well. I have to start somewhere, right?

You chicks have a great day. Try to stay warm and safe! Be well!

Ellis, we "cross posted!" I guess that is better than "cross dressing!" Okay, that was bad. I'm sorry you are cold and out of sorts. Have a nice cup of hot tea and wrap up in a quilt for some "ME TIME" and you'll feel better soon.

My DH just stuck his head out of the bedroom...he was obviously up late last night as he headed straight back to bed. I probably won't see him for hours...so I guess I get to stay up for a while. Now I'M getting cranky! Aghhh. Maybe I'll take my own advice and settle in with a hot cup of tea and my flannel pyjamas. Sounds like a plan!

Morning Ladies,
I have been busier that I have ever been, and finding that getting older and physically bigger it is very difficult for me to manage this load. I have been doing better, but not best. We still have this blasted grocery store strike here and so getting food is still challenging. There is a service that I was using that I could have food delivered to my house twice a month. Since I shopped twice a month, I met the minimum and it didn't even cost me anything. Not to mean to sound like a prima donna, but I need to hire someone to do my shopping.

I am working seven days right now. I have the business mgmt, bookeeping part of the business, just started a new division called ecrs (employer compliance regulations service) that helps small businesses comply with federal and state requirements for having employees, and of course, the pet travel business.

Things were going very well with on the guy front, and have taken a turn this week, i don't think that he is in therapy right now, and it shows. We were talking about getting a new computer and getting a more stable environment for me, we'll see.

Glad to see everyone is still plugging along....I am thinking about you all and even though I am not posting I am checking in...

Hugs to all,
rb

Hi all!! Things have been BUSY here this past week!! AND COLD!!! I visited my parents yesterday, and it was a balmy 15 degrees when I left their house in the afternoon...felt warm and cozy!!!

My Dad is improving steadily, but he hasn't managed to get his blood sugar under control. His leg is almost down to normal size, but it is still very red. He seems so much older to me all of a sudden, and I hate to see it. At least he is improving though!!

DS16 is off for a Model United Nations conference until tomorrow. He is SO busy this year it is unbelieveable!! And becoming a confident young man at an ALARMING rate!! He turns 17 this week, and it is FREAKING ME OUT!!! DS13 is home basking in the attention of his parents, and LOVING being an only child for a while!!

Last week I went for a makeover and bought some cosmetics...LOTS of fun to be pampered like that!! I haven't regularly worn make up in YEARS, so it was interesting to see how differently everything is done now.

Trying to get back on track....been making lots of excuses and not eating well or exercising. I AM pampering myself though, which is a start!!!

'Bout time you came back, you old Den, you.
Glad to hear your Dad is doing a little better. It's sad seeing them age, isn't it...

Okay, I want to know who said a prayer for me this morning, because I've had a GREAT morning! Did a TON of cleaning, and I'm feeling pretty good.

Good Afternoon!! It was suppose to rain all weekend and now the sun is shining..how annoying! Hopefully the kiddos will still be content hanging in the house while I paint their bathroom.

I am puffy this morning and it is really ticking me off!! It is my TOM, lucky me!!! I bet I will put on at least 3lbs of water in the next couple of days That makes my dieting efforts look pitiful! Oh, and my stinky husband, who is sort of following SBD with me, accept for his 2 donuts he has every morning...stepped on the scales and has dropped 3lbs in the last 2 days! That is good though...I guess He needs to lose about 30 lbs. Irregardless...we will still have our Monday weigh in, and those of you just starting back on SBD can join us the following Monday

Ellis, glad you are feeling better

Rowan, you can tell I don't watch the news, I had no idea there was a grocery store strike in California...so sorry.

Franny, congrats on re-starting Monday

Ruth, what play are you doing?

Well, I should go put on my painting clothes..will let you know how it is turning out.

Have a Great DAy!!

Chaz, I'm puffy too and can't even use that bugger TOM as an excuse as he left town years ago. The play I am doing is The Vagina Monologues - not a cute little family show, believe me!
Ellis, I always pray for you. Maybe somebody was paying attention.

Off to try to pound some more lines into this thick head.

ROFL Ruth! now that does sound like one interesting play!

Den, glad your dad is better.

Ellis, hopefully your cold gets better soon. Glad to hear your day is improving.

I was puffy last week, thank god the bloating has subsided because I was becoming a real you know what!

I also have stuck with both my plans and finally dropped 3 pds this last week, I am off to a great start!

Not much going on this weekend, my babysitter finally called it quits (she had mentioned it awhile back so I knew it was coming just not when), so now I have to find a reliable good CHEAP sitter! That's hard to especially where I live and I don't have 600.00 a month for daycare like everyone expects, that's way more than my share of the freaking house payment! HOpefully my mom will pitch in and help like she said she would.

Still packing boxes, we were not able to close on the house on Wed, had to push it out a week. That darn snow storm put a stop to everything. So hopefully this week we will get it all straightened out and get to finally start moving!

Well, kids are being demanding so I will go now. Hugs and big "HI's" to all....and I will check in and chat soon!

A quick Hi to you all. I am doing all the last packing for our Cruise which starts tomorrow. Will be gone for a week and so I know I'll miss a lot. I will surely have to start Phase 1 when we get back, although I have promised myself not to go crazy with the food. Just because it is there, doesn't mean I have to eat it. I feel for all you gals in the freezing zone. I've been there, done that, and know just how difficult it can be. Reason no. 1 why we are now in Florida. Hope you all have a good week, and that the cold will lift. 'See' you in a week . Lizzie

Good afternoon!!!! I just got back from the grocery store w/ lots of goodies!! Now I think I will take down my Christmas tree. Honestly, I've never left it up past New Year's Day so this is embarassing!! At least its in the den where nobody goes except during the holidays so I was able to keep the doors shut.

I was thinking could we have a thread for eating tips? Or maybe there is already one and I've missed it, lol. Anyways, some simple ideas that help me out:

1) During a meal, drink a sip of water between eat bite. (If I dont, I seem to wolf down my food and drink after I'm finished. Also, helps to fill me up.)

2) Once I've fixed my plate I make sure I put up all the food before I eat. That way if I decide to have seconds its more of an effort. Usually I find I'm satisfied and dont bother.

3) When I'm fixing things for the kids or baking for school, etc I dont nibble or taste or even lick my fingers, lol. It just helps me to refrain from actually having a helping myself.

4) I buy the unsalted, roasted peanuts in the shells. That way I have to crack the shell before I can eat the nuts instead of just shoveling a handful in my mouth!

Ok, those may sound silly but they do help me. I have more but I'll post later as I remember.

Ruth, your play sounds fascinating!!!!

Ellis, glad to hear youre feeling better! Congrats on all the cleaning! Now would you mind helping me w/ this tree?? lol

Franny, I feel for you! I dont mind snow but please no freezing rain! Miserable weather, hope it clears up soon for you!

Chaz, how is the painting job coming along? I would love to repaint my bedroom but I keep changing my mind on the color.

Busymomma, congrats on such a great start! Hang in there!! Three pounds is fantastic!

Lizzie, I hope you have a marvelous time on your cruise! That sounds like so much fun, I cant wait to go on vacation myself.

Dentrassi, I'm glad your Dad is improving. I hope his blood sugars get under control quick!!

Rowan, hi! I wasnt aware of the grocery strike either, doesnt sound good!
I hope you have a stress free week at work!

Hope I didnt leave anyone out, still getting the hang of this!

Have fun on your cruise Lizzie...

Hope everyone is well and warm!

Off to eat and paint!!!

GavinsMom, do you STILL have your tree up!?
Geez, you're VERY nurturing replying to everyone! We LOVE people like you!
The eating tip thread is a good idea... go ahead and start one if you like, or I'll start it...

Lizzie... have a wonderful time on your cruise, hon!!

Huh. Lot's of puffy people around here. Emily, good luck with your moving day!

Chaz, those men! They're all alike... they drop weight in the blink of an eye.

Franny, are you still cranky? So glad your meds have kicked in.

Thanks, Ruthie... I suspected that prayer was coming in from Delta.

Hi everyone,

I'm just getting online now! :P It's been a long hectic day and now I'm looking to relax a little bit.

Chazmom, how's it going with you? We started the same day.

I had lettuce with my breakfast this morning! Never in my forty some years did I dream I would eat lettuce in the morning!
