Question what happens ...

... if you mess up in Phase I and eat something you're not supposed to? Do you start the 2 weeks over or just plow ahead? I've lost 5 lbs so far since I started and am feeling good about that but the cravings are really rough.

Sometimes it's hard for me to get on a thread because by the time I come online it's like 9 p.m.

have a great Friday,
Cassie

PLOW AHEAD!

At least that is what I would do!!! I would hate to think that one bad meal or snack could ruin everything you have already accomplished.

Take Care!

Cassie, if by "messing up" you mean eating something that isn't on plan once or twice, then by all means PLOW AHEAD as Chasmom said! But if you mean you haven't eaten on plan in days or weeks and you've forgotten what being on plan even means, then maybe you had better start over! LOL!

You're doing great, so don't give up. The cravings will pass...I promise!

Cravings do pass. Try to determine exactly what you are craving and then see if you can find an OP substitute. Craving carbs? Try some roasted chick peas. Craving sweetness? Try SF Jello or a Sf fudgsicle or ricotta creme.
As Franny says, no need to start over in Phase I unless you have been off plan for days....and I know that';s not what you mean.

Keep going........I try and think of phase one as a detoxification process. The WOE starts in phase two. I actually crave phase one when I have been naughty!!!!

From what i have been reading.....I thnk the main intention of Phase I is to get rid of the cravings.....I would plow ahead...however, if I was still haveing cravings i would stay in phase I for as long as it takes to get rid of them......not to exceed 3 weeks of strict adherence to the Phase I plan......after 3 weeks of strict adhereance.....go ahead to phase II.....go to prevention.com frequently asked questions.....i was just reading this earlier today from Dr. Agatson himself

Thanks everyone! It was just a snack mess-up and so I'm just going to plow ahead. My period started last Thursday, first time in 2 months, and that's when I got hit with these cravings for chocolate. I bought some splenda-sweetened chocolate bars which helped the other night but didn't help much last night. I'm hoping the cravings go away with the unwelcome "visitor".

thanks again,
Cassie

Hi,

I thought we "could" eat Splenda chocolate or Splenda candies throughout ALL phases as they cause no sugar spikes as carbs in reg sugar would.

Also I see in the Southbeach full size hardback it says no dairy in phase 1 but if you have the SBD Good Fats Good Carbs see the ad on the right of this screen its the 7.99 book its says you CAN have dairy (certain products)in phase 1 just NOT full fat dairy. I find that very confusing and it is also causing confusion on some forum posters as the ones that read the big book only say no dairy in phase 1 but the one that have read BOTH books say you can. I hope the good doctor corrects this in his next additions and addresses Spenda and diet candies (no sugar)and if they are safe. Also he says in phase one we can have I cant believe its not butter spray. It contains no transfats. There is now a tub of this stuff that also states it has no trans fats. Guess What I am assuming its safe and using it.

I agree with you, the Guide and the Full Size book do have some conflicts! I also heard today that there was a small Prevention/SBD book out? I'm not sure what it is. Does anybody know about it?

I received info from Prevention. They wanted me to buy the book from them. From the materials that I viewed it just looks like they put some of their info together with the SBD a little extra info to try to entice us to buy from them.

Too funny! I have been known to "pop" an Equal tablet when I was desperate for something sweet! But I never thought about just chewing a packet! DUH!
