I actually LIKE water. But it's very cold out and it's been VERY cold in my office (so cold in fact they catered in gourmet hot chocolate yesterday morning and hot soup yesterday afternoon -- for 250 people -- I avoided the hc, but succumbed to one small cup of minnestrone) I'm even having problems keeping on portion of my house comfortably warm.
And ... I just can't get the water in. It's always been a problem drinking enough on weekends, but weekdays in the office were generally pretty easy.
I tried drinking warm water, but YUCK! I tried decaf tea, but I'm really not a tea drinker. For decaf coffee, I'd be required to go out, so I can't do that very often. Does boullion count or is that too high in sodium? Are there any warm beverages that count as water??!!?!?
I'm open to any ideas and suggestions you might have.
Hmmm.... let me think about this one. I'd say boullion is way high in sodium. Hot water beverages..... how about hot water with a splash of 100% orange juice in it? That sounds good. Let's see what everyone else has to say.
Ooh ooh! I just remembered. Hey, the water is really icky icky at first, like, the first month I FORCED MYSELF to drink it. But then, it really grew on me and now I feel disgusting if I get any less than 60oz per day. Even though it gets boring, it really does grow on you, so I know what you mean by "liking it, but dreading it"

I drink alot of water with my meals and i found i really like peppermint herbal tea with some splenda. There is also the flavored waters like fruit to go and carbonated flavored water that have no sodium or calories. I use these all in addition to getting as much regular water that i can but sometimes these help get the water in.
Seltzer water is a good one....they come in a variety of flavors that is quite tastey!!!!!
I like the lemon and water idea....and since it is so cold out....have you ever tried boiled water and a couple of lemon slices? Sounds odd, I know, but since you are not a tea drinker, it may be a nice alternative. As an added benefit, that mixture helps with bloating and constipation!!!! Hope that helps!!!
Try just room tempature water. Even in Southern California I get very cold very quickly so on cool days, the last thing I want to drink is cold water. However, I will drink room tempature water with little glacier effect.
When I get sick, I'm known to drink steaming hot water with a huge squeeze of lemon in it. Yum!
It's early in the morning and my brain isn't working up to par yet but I just had a thought. Bouillion is very high in sodium but what about low sodium chicken broth? Wouldn't that be about the same with less sodium?
I do not like tea or coffee and am also limited in what to drink that is warm. Think I might try my own idea.
1/ Nestle FF hot cocoa mix. 2 T is only 25 calories and give you 30% of your calcium for the day
2/ crystal light! there are so many flavours - and it's like 5 cals per glass.
Try to give yourself a target to have so many water products done by a certain time of the day.
I'm sure if this counts as water.. but I think it should: sugar free jello! I think it's only 10 calories per 1/2 cup serving. Eat the whole thing that only 40 calories and 2 cups of water.
Experiement with different teas. I love my peach tea.
There is a herbal tea called good earth that is wonderful.
We drink only bottled water here. I get mine at walmart for $2.50 for a case of 12. It's great to travel with - and I don't care what anyone says: it does taste better!!
I have a collection of Nalgene water bottles. I love them! I have most of the colors, and use different ones on different days depending on my mood. It's completely silly, but they hold 32 oz. so if I finish two I've got my water in for the day.
I am a singer and have had "Hot lemonade" prescribed to me for my voice. Squeeze a whole lemon into hot water and add splenda to taste. it's yummy (and good for your voice, in case that matters!)
Thanks for all your input. I'm going to look into different herbal teas. And I'll try that hot lemonade. My office provides bottled water, so that's what I'm drinking. Today I forgot to bring my yogurt to work so I had sugar free hot chocolate today ... it was ok, but not great. When it comes to hot beverages, I'm a die-hard coffee drinker
Way to go Steph! free water.. nice! You know, I've never tried coffee in my life! Maybe I should just stay away.
So would you guys count jello? or am I stretching this?
