well today is day 8 I have lost 3 1/2 lbs and I haven't cheated [ although last night I dreamed I ate 2 cupcakes]
I need help at breakfast-- I am getting so sick of eggs everymorning eggs I can't stand it and I know I can't skip breakfast.
even when snacking it is cheese celery I need somemore variety here or I know I will go off.
I made it thru day #2 which was really difficult and eventhough I didn't cheat that day I did eat more snacks to get me thru- celery- cheese- nuts- but I did make it
but really salads everyday and eggs help me get thru.
I have read great stories of people losing 10lbs and up during phase 1- I am at 3 1/2 at 8 days-- I don't think I will hit that mark.
I weighed 144 1/2 my goal is 125-128
I am drinking my water and I am exercising 20 mins everyday I know I should up it but just can't find the time .
any advice ?
I have had a plan of action for 3 yrs my orignal weight was 185 after 2 kids I did sugar busters- weight watchers and every year I set a goal of weight loss and I have met it--and maintained it - I knew I couldn't stay on a diet for a whole year to lose all the weight so I paced myself--this year I want to finally get to my goal weight-- it is in sight I just need food help now. cooking 2 seperate meals is draining and my chioces are limited. help..
Hi April
I have been on the diet for just a short time too, less than a week so far. It sounds as if you are doing brilliantly, and I love your idea about taking a few pounds each year as your goal. Much more realistic than the 'size 12 by Christmas or bust' mentality which it is so easy to get seduced in to.
So breakfasts.....I have had smoked salmon, which seems like an indulgent treat, and also bacon with parsley. I dont much like eggs so it is a bit tricky from that point of view. You just have to get through Phase one and then you can add some carbs in to breakfast which might make it easier.
I also am in phase I of the diet (day 12). I lost 4 lbs in the first 5 days, felt great, really motivated but
I HAVENT LOST A POUND (infact have bounced around up .2 and down .2) FOR THE PAST 7 DAYS!!!!!
I'm getting really discouraged...... I do aerobics 4-5 times a week. Days 6-9 I was kind of "liberal" with snacking on nuts when I was hungry, but I've been dedicated to plan for the past 2 days STILL NOTHING!
Any advice from the people who've been there.....?
I think I had VERY unrealistic expectations of a 10 lb weight loss at the end of 14 days....
April, I'm with Ruth. I just eat WHATEVER for breakfast. It doesn't have to be "breakfast food".
And I've two children (14 and 7 years) who eat the same thing that DH (who is doing SB with me) and I do. I'll just add something to their meal... mashed potatoes, a roll, corn, whatever. My kids don't need to load up on carbs like we did when we were kids. (oh... those HEAVY meals Mom used to make!)
And don't get discouraged re: the weight loss. When I first started SB in the summer, I lost 5 pounds on Phase I and then another 6 pounds on the first two weeks of Phase II. I was disappointed not to lose 10 or so the first two weeks, but I'm okay with it now. Everyone is different.
Hi April,
I am going into day 8 also. I think I am only at about 3 or 4 pounds also. (I will weigh myself tomorrow am) I only have about 15 to lose so I think that is why. I haven't cheated once all week. The last few days have been very hard. I am craving chocolate. Tonight is Friday night, so I am craving my usual glas or 2 of wine. I keep telling myself I need to get through those first 2 weeks and give the cravings a chance to diminish.
Good luck to you April, and you too Clove..
One of the things that I would have for breakfast was some turkey breast lunch meat wrapped around a lowfat mozz cheese stick. That always seemed to satisfy me.
I'm with you... I don't like hardboiled eggs for breakfast & don't have time to cook them, so I just ate something quick...
Sometimes a breakfast for me is string cheese, almonds and V-8.
Also, I have had chicken salad for breakfast, and veggie omelets. LOTS of veggies like mushrooms and zucchini, and the eggs aren't so prominent.
I am so glad that I read this. I feel much better. I started SBD on Dec. 29. I feel like I have done very well on it. Decided to sneak a peak on the scales this morning. I am down 5 pounds and tomorrow is suppsed to be my last day doing this. I am disappointed because the loss on Phase 1 isn't more, but now that I've read the posts I feel better about this. I'm sure I am getting healthier, and I'm hoping my glucose levels will be down when I am tested next month. If not, the doctor will be saying that I am diabetic.
I'm always running late in the mornings so my breakfasts have consisted of turkey & cheese roll ups most mornings. I also boiled a bunch of eggs one night so I'd have them to grab out of the refrigerator. Nuts, ff cheese are good on the run also.
It sounds like we're in the same place re: lbs lost, and expectations of that "8-14 lbs" not met....
You've got a great outlook on the overall health issue, thanks for reminding me of that.
My sister-in-law is 35lbs down after 6 months. She had a similar experience ( 4 lbs only Phase I and 1-2 lbs per week thereafter) Thank goodness she told me about her experience -
I also do not like hard boil eggs and I am feed up w/ eggs in general..
I miss my taost in the am really I do. but I am going to try the cheese sticks or turkey roll ups.
and the nuts-- I have been eating nuts but I think my body isn't use to it because I am getting pains in my stomach after I eat them-- my DH warned me about gallbladder problems and too mamy nuts. even a teaspoon of peanutbutter isn't agreeing with me...
well day 10 today 4 more days.
what I am worried about is introducing carbs in phase 2-- since my loss hasn't been alot on phase 1 it will be worse on phase 2 but I know I cannot go longer on phase 1.
