Good morning, girls!
It's SO cold out there! All you girls in California and Florida... bundle up well!

Back shortly... getting the kids off to school. My most difficult job of the day.

Could you girls get with the rest of the civilized world and convert to Celcius, please?
It's -25 here right now. With the windchill, -41. No wonder you think we live in igloos.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to go back to bed...

Sharon, glad you're back! How was your visit? Are the babies and DIL all better?

Back later...

Geez, Sflake... that's like bikini weather.
Ruth is having trouble getting onto the site. I heard that Suzanne is/was, too. I wonder if you have to be inept to get here. Because it's just you and me, and... oh, I get it. It's because we can't cook.
Hey, how's your cold hon? I hope you're getting better. (you lousy cook, you.)

Hey wait a minute! I couldn't get on earlier today, but now I can....wonder what that means? Maybe that I CAN cook but just don't feel like it? Who knows...I'm just glad it's working now.

Slept late today, and am now ready for a nap. Geesh....you'd think I worked hard today or something. All I have done is search the net for fabric and put away some Christmas stuff. Oh well...enough projects for today I suppose.

Ellis, I don't know what the temp in Celcius is here in Ohio, but I'm SURE it isn't as cold as there! It is a lot warmer today than the past couple days, but now it is snowing. Odd weather this winter.

YAAAWWWN...I need a nap. It will have to wait until I get the youngest from the bus stop...then maybe I can convince him that a nap is just the thing! Fat chance. At least he is a good little guy...he doesn't get into anything or create havoc of any sort. Got lucky with this one. My oldest was into something everytime my back was turned...she took a lot of watching. This one...just happy-go-lucky and well behaved.

Ellis, I remember the big push to switch to metric here in the States in the 70's. You can see how well that went over! At least I have a basic understanding of metric and can cook from recipes that are in metric, etc. I hate to admit it, but metric makes so much more sense. My DH STILL doesn't know how many teaspoons are in a tablespoon, or how many cups are in a pint. Can't blame him really...

Enough babble. Take care all, have a great day!

Hey, girls!
Ruth and Suzanne (actually, a LOT of people) have had trouble getting on today. Something to do with the ISP.
Anyhow, I think Suzanne is getting things straightened out (again, poor dear!).

Franny, I'm glad you're back!

Back later... have to go and lie down... I have a really bad pain...

Smile Ok, ok!! 3rd try to post was magic...it worked!!!!

I gave up trying to get into 3FC after the message across my screen said twice that there was no such site!

Silly old computers! Thought I'd try again this afternoon, and what do you know????? It worked! So here I am girls. Nothing spectacular to talk about. I did exercise for an hour this morning at the health club. Then I went to the grocery to stock up on SBD friendly foods for the week. I'm busy today washing clothes from the trip, unpacking, and slowly putting away Christmas. I hate coming home from a trip and finding Christmas still up and shining...but that's the way it is! Where is the good fairy when you really need her????

Franny.....I'm so glad to see you're back. I really have missed you!

Sflake...have you had a bad cold? I'm hoping you feel much better by now!

Ellis....Honey, are you the moderator now???? What is becoming of us?!!!!! Just kidding! Many thanks for a great JOB!

Where is Ruth?????

Thanks for all the work, Suzanne!!!!

Gotta finish my wash......later, chicks!

Oh, hey, Ellis........

I forgot to tell you, everyone is well and healthy in Texas! The kids ate all the Gingerbread house, and hadsuch fun decorating it! They had more candy and icing in and on themselves than they put on the house!!! You must try one next year. It is a wonderful family project!
Hugs to you!
Sharon

Sharon, I'm moderating with Ruth, but I know nothing. NOTHING! Suzanne and Ruth have done everything. All I've done is made a few minor errors. (although I WAS able to get on this morning while they weren't!)
Glad you had a good trip and are back safely!

Ruth, I see you finally got on... where the heck are you?

Hi everyone,

I am so relieved to get onto the site at last. I see now that lots of other people had some problems getting on. I was worried something bad happened and am glad to see it back again.

It's been cold here too but it kind of feels nice after all the warm weather we'd been having. It feels like winter now.

Hello, Chaz, starting out on Monday too and maybe we can stay in touch as we go along seeing as we're starting the same day?

thanks for the welcome Ellis!

glad to be here,
Cassie

Hey guys, just checking in before we trek out to go get dbf's kids. I have been going so stir crazy it is unreal. Decided to go outside and darn near broke my neck going down the stairs! Then I could not get back up the stairs to get into the house! Groan.....hopefully again tommorow we won't have school. It's just to dangerous because we are thawing out so slowly.

The only reason I am going to town with dbf is for groceries. I have run out of OP foods and I am going nuts trying to find something to eat and I am just plain cranky about it. tonight we are going to get pizza just to give myself a break, been a major arguement between myself and the 5 other kids that live in this house. I need a break so bad....a trip to the grocery store or walmart sounds like a true paradise to me!

Gotta run I have 2 out of 5 tots yammering at me (yes I am including dbf in that count lol) for something to drink. Be back later.

Default Well! I see that I'm expendable!

Suzanne and I finally did get back on this afternoon but Kevin the contractor was here and I couldn't play on the PC. He left me with a list of stuff needed at Home Hardware so I trekked off to Brockville to get it. (My shopping time is free and his isn't.)

When you complain about the cold (-47C windchill tonight!), just be glad you don't have to go outside to get firewood like poor moi! Our woodstove is working very hard today but the back room is very cozy - so they tell me! I've been doing other jobs around the house like folding the Christmas tree and sorting and putting away decorations. I did get my paperwhites planted the other day but those darn tulips won't be planted for sure now with this cold.

I hope everyone experiencing a real winter is keeping warm and safe. You Southern chicks had better get ready for an influx of visitors if this keeps up!

Dinner is in the crockpot and smells wonderful - a Tuscan beef and bean stew! It will be over noodles for H. and just with a salad for me. I hope it tastes as good as it smells. I'll post the recipe if it's good..

Oh yes - went to Dr Jack this morning re the darn blood sugar and he pronounced me a "perfectly controlled diabetic, may even no longer diabetic" and told me to start decreasing my meds whenever i want. I love that man. Harry's diabetes is under fairly good control but still has spikes of very high or very low readings. What a pain in the *** this disease is! H's is genetic but mine is definitely from being overweight for so long. You younger chicks keep that in mind.

Well, I have to vacuum my bedroom yet again before it is sleepable. Tearing out old plaster walls sure makes a mess.
Sleep warm and well and see you in the morning.

Geez, I wish I had a Scotch but I'll settle for a glass of red with dinner.

HI ALL!! I had problems getting on earlier too.

Ruth-CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! WOW, you sure must be doing a LOT right to reverse your diabetes like that!! My Dad's blood sugar is all over the place still, and I AM taking it to heart. He has sleep apnea, type 2 diabetes, asthma, high cholestrol and high blood pressure, all of which are related at least in part to his weight. With his recent hospitalization it has really made me think about my future too. It is scary watching him go through all of this, and I know that in 20 or 30 years i may be putting MY kids through this (as well as myself!!) I always thought I had a while before I had to worry about it, but my Dad went from borderline to problem almost overnight.

HI!!! To all the rest of you...
