newby - first day on the beach

  • Hi! I just started South Beach today and wish I would have found this site yesterday. How is the plan working for people? Should have asked that before I bought the book and started, huh. But I am excited and have high hopes.
    I have been on Weight Watchers since February and have only lost a total of 15 lbs. I've been yo-yo-ing for months now and have had it. I followed the plan so I don't think it had much to do with how much I ate but everything to do with what I ate - well that is what I am hoping.
    I've been thinking about going lo-carb for a while and was considering Atkins but think it is just a little too strict for me. That is how I discovered South Beach. It looks like something that I can live with FOREVER, yes I know it is a lifetime committment. I also know it is not totally low carb, but it does cut out the bad carbs and that is what we don't need right?
    Other than diet, I also exercise at Curves and do WATP regularly.
  • Welcome to the beach Linda. You will love it here and will get lots of support. You are right this is a lifestyle change not a diet. If you think that way then you will do great.
