Default Milton's Healthy Multi Grain Bread

Ladies, I bought this bread at Sams today. First off I read the fiber of 3g as Sugar (cuz they're close) and the sugar is really 7g. Let me give you the ingredients.
Enriched unbleached flour (wheat flour, malted barley flour, niacin, ferrous sulfate, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid) water, br. sugar, brown rice, honey, cornmeal, wheat bran, rolled oats, vital wheat gluten, yeast, oat flour, calcium sulfate, salt, vinegar, natural flavors, black and white sesame seeds, poppy seeds, soy flour.

Is this good bread or am I being fooled. 130 cal, .5g fat, 28g carbs, 3g fiber, 7g sugar 4g protein.

I ate a piece and it seemed sweet. (but it was preetttyyy good!!)

This "good carbs", understanding good wheat is kinda kickin my behind, I'm born and bred on fat grams, points, and calories. Thanks ssoooo much for your feedback.

Gee, this is a toughie! I kind of have the same problem and although I know what I should be looking for (high fiber, low sugar) it can be tough. I think the best thing you can do is compare the nutrition labels. For example, I buy Brownberry 12 Grain Bread:

110 cal
2 gr fat
20 gr carbs
1 gr fiber
3 gr sugar
4 gr protein

Now I am thinking this isn't enough fiber! But I also know that I don't eat much bread anymore and I am still losing weight, which is really the ultimate test!

Maybe someone else will have more definative info for you!

I have bought Pepperidge Farms Oatmeal bread.
60 cal. per slice
1 gram fat
0 cholesterol
160 gr. sodium
total carbohydrate 11 gr.
Dietary fiber 1 gram
sugars 1 gr.
protein 2 grams.

I just wish I could find a bread that doesn't use partially hydrogenated anything. Anyone found one> Lizzie

I get my bread at a health food store, it's called Breads for Life Sprouted Seven Grain Bread.
Per slice:
100 calories
2 g fat
0 g saturated fat
0 mg cholesterol
200 mg sodium
11 g carbohydrate
4 g fiber
0 g sugar
8 g protein

It seems a little high in sodium, but I like the fiber, fat, and sugar amounts. It tastes pretty good, too -- not sweet, but more like a sourdough taste.
