Hi there:
Which Glucophage are you doing? Are you taking it with food? Nausea and other side effects tend to go away after you body has acclimated to taking it. Which one are you taking -- plain or extended release version? If the side effects have not settled down, ask your doc about changing to the "other" form.
For me I didn't like the plain but handled the XR just fine. I was taking 2000 mg of Glucophage XR for about a year before we conceived. I was actually considering adding Clomid to the mix but ended up not needing it. I'm expecting within 2-4 weeks.

Sometimes it just takes time for the Glucophage to work and to get the timing for sex right. Even couples with no fertility hurdles have only a 25% chance of getting pregnant any given cycle.
On the diet front -- Colette Harris has written _The PCOS Diet Book_ which might be helpful. I saw a dietitian and did 50% carb, 20% protein, and then 30% fat while TTC. When I got pregnant I wasn't as good about tracking my diet because of the morning sickness and stuff.
In 3rd trimester of pregnancy when I had a little trouble with the GTT's and was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. Now I do 44% carb, 23% protein and 33% fat. Not a huge change from what I did TTC, but my blood sugar levels are better and I do not have to take insulin or anything.
HTH!
