Default south beach diet

Hi. I am new to this site! I am having problems with the diet. It is day 5 for me and I have lost maybe a #. Does anyone have suggestions? I drink caffine free diet pop. Could this be a result?

Try laying off the soda and switch to water. One of the biggest, most remarkable changes I noticed in the first two weeks was that I actually started liking water! LOL Also, try Diet Rite soda, it has Splenda instead of aspartame.

Welcome, Laurie. Diet drinks can certianly slow or even stop weightloss. Try water for a while and see what happens.

Welcome, Laurie.
Definitely go for water. You're probably a little dehydrated, too. You may think you're hungry but you're actually thirsty.

Welcome Laurie: I agree with the other ladies. Water is much more important than we want to give it credit. Much of our body comsists of water, and we need to keep it replenished every day.
Hang in there, you will get the formula and the #s will start to go. Lizzie

Default Soda

I didn't know you couldn't have diet soda. I thought it was ok. I drink the water but I do have a diet coke sometimes. Maybe I should stop. It didn't say anything in the CD I got about diet soda. Also I was reading something about fudgesicles which ones are ok? Are they only Ok for phase two? I really haven't lost that much weight but I lost like two inches on my waist and one from my hips. I thought that was really strange. It made me soooo happy though

I like the Blue Bunny products that are at Super Wal Mart.

As for the soda, Caffeine Free and Sugar Free as in Diet Rite, etc.
If you think this may be slowing your progress down leave it off your meal plans for a week or two. And if you do indulge, limit them to at least 1 a day. Play around with this till you find what is right for you. We are all different.

In the book references are made to cola's.
Pages 49, 56 & 89.

......replace coke with diet soda......

.......colas require little digestion and goes directly into the bloodstream....which leads to cravings.....

.....Colas are pure sugar rush.....

We don't count carbs or calories.
Keep to the lower end of the GI and keep sugar contents under 4 gr.

Water is best and you can get flovored water at Super Wal Mart that are SF and caffeine free. Tea thta is decaf as well.

Hope this helped.
