Back in 2016 I had surgery and it worked for a while .. until it didn't.
Now I'm trying again by taking Wegovy (AKA Ozempic)
I find it a little surprising that there is so little chatter on the subject of GLP-1 drugs on the site. I was hoping for some wisdom from others also taking them.
It is interesting there is little chatter here about GLP-1 drugs. I am on Ozempic and started in May of last year. At the time, it was a god send as I was in an unrelenting gain cycle. Back then after losing 40 pounds on my own, I had gained 25 pounds back despite my best efforts to stop the regain. Ozempic allowed me to stop the regain and lose about 20% of my body weight effortlessly. At a total loss of roughly 50 pounds currently since starting my weight loss journey in 2018.
In full disclosure, it is not working for me as well now, even with a dose increase (on 0.75/week). I am very hungry most of the time and am fighting everyday to maintain my loss. I am working with my doctor on next steps.
I've only had 9 doses of it. 8 of those doses was 0.25 mg. One dose of 0.5 mg. My last weigh in was at the end of week 7 and I had lost 17 pounds. I will probably stay at 0.5 mg for another 7 weeks and then think about going to the next step. The way I understand it a full dose for weight loss is supposed to be 2.4 mg. So I wouldn't worry too much just yet.
You will do this! I’ve never taken Ozempic or similar medications, and I believe that if a doctor doesn’t prescribe it, it’s not necessary. I recently found Beachbody reviews and I’m thinking about starting to exercise more and stick to a diet a bit. It’s very important to me to look good. I’m very happy that a few years ago I took control of myself and started working on my body.
