Smile Starting The Britalian Diet - anyone done it?

Like a lot of ppl on here, I’ve been stuck at the same (way too high) weight for agesss. Definitely since Covid but probably started before that tbh. Had 3 kids pretty much back to back and never really got back to myself afterwards. Went from just a bit squishy to properly in the obese category now. Pretty sure I’m peri as well (fun times &#128514

I’m around 210 lbs atm (not even sure what that is in stone and honestly don’t want to know &#128517 and I’m 5’4. I know I need to lose weight but I just can’t face another one of the crazy diets I used to do. Used to do shakes or like, 800 cals a day, but I just can’t anymore. The willpower has left the building, along with the energy lol - can’t be starving all day while looking after 3 kids 😵‍💫

Anyway I came across The Britalian Diet a couple of weeks ago and kept thinking about it and finally bought the book the other day. Anyone else tried it?? I had a quick look but couldn’t find any threads (sorry if there is one and I’ve just missed it!!)

It’s kind of Italian-style eating, so pasta, wine, desserts etc still allowed. You still track calories but it’s done as calorie cycling, like 1400 on avg but some days more, some less. Never tried that before so we’ll see…

Day one today - sat here with a milky coffee and a mini croissant feeling fancy 😂 So far so good.

Will try and check in once a week to keep myself on track.

Still managing to stick with The Britalian Diet (1400 cal option) and don’t feel like I’m dieting at all, which is soooo different to the other ones I've done. Few of my favourite foods have been melon and prosciutto, lemon chicken with rosemary potatoes, the fried pizzas the other night, and i'm liking the milky/frothy coffee in the morning as well. It seems to fill me up more than instant, which is helpful! 😂

Wasn't going to weigh until Friday but went on the scales this morning… and I’m down 3 pounds already! I know it’s probably water weight but still, nice to see. Will weigh again on Monday.

Also went for a walk yesterday, first in ages, and felt really good to get moving again. Might get a walking pad to try and get more steps in.....been looking on Amazon this morning.

So, first proper weigh in this morning (does 3 Fat Chicks have a weigh-in thread - can't see one but I'm not the best at finding these things!) Anyway, I am down SIX POUNDS!! 😮I'm now 204 pounds.

I know it's because I've got a decent amount to lose and it's probably a lot of water weight but it's still so motivating to see such a big change in the first week. My jeans feel a tiny but looser this morning so I think I'm less bloated as well.

I've eaten so many things I wouldn't normally eat on a diet this week - croissants, cappuccinos, pasta, pizza, a few glasses of wine and I had a scoop of the nicest lemon gelato last night (I spotted it in Aldi and had to buy some). Absolutely loving it.

Aim this week = stick to the plan and get more walks in.

I hope everyone else has had a good week and weekend! 🙂

If you lose weight on 1400 calories a day and is easier for you to sustain, then go for it. Treat this as a marathon, not a sprint
