Smile STOP Binge & Emotional Eating

Highly recommend reading books by Geneen Roth (or audiobooks) or finding her on YouTube. I have found inspiration, support, and guidance through her in understanding emotional eating, overcoming binges, etc. She is wonderful! I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU AS IT HELPED ME. GOD BLESS!

“It’s never been true, not anywhere at any time, that the value of a soul, of a human spirit, is dependent on a number on a scale,” writes Roth. “When we start defining ourselves by that which can be measured or weighed, something deep within us rebels.”

“When you no longer believe that eating will save your life when you feel exhausted or overwhelmed or lonely, you will stop,” she writes. “When you believe in yourself more than you believe in food, you will stop using food as if it were your only chance at not falling apart.”

“Compulsive eating is only the symptom; believing that you are not worth your own love is the problem.”
—Geneen Roth, “Women, Food, and God: An Unexpected Path to Almost Everything”

"Roth outlines several tips for truly being present and enjoying your food.
1. Eat when you are hungry.
2. Eat sitting down in a calm environment. This does not include the car.
3. Eat without distractions. Distractions include radio, television, newspapers, books, intense or anxiety-producing conversations, or music.
4. Eat what your body wants.
5. Eat until you are satisfied.
6. Eat (with the intention of being) in full view of others.
7. Eat with enjoyment, gusto, and pleasure.
Doing these can help you truly experience the pleasure of eating, as well as take away any sense of the shamefulness or specialness of food."

I think it can, if the person is able to accurately count their macros (protein, carbohydrates, and fats) and plan their meals well. I had been doing pretty well with my Weight Watchers program (losing about a pound a week) but it was getting repetitive and the monthly fees were becoming costly.

Thanks for the recommendations. This is really good information, but for example I have an internal clock and it feels like I’m hungry all the time. Of course, it annoys me and I’m learning how to deal with it. Recently I read sono bello reviews and it really caught my attention. I started talking about this topic with my friends, and it turned out that many of them have had liposuction and are very satisfied with the results. I understand that before thinking about something like that, I first need to get rid of the stress that leads to overeating.
