Post Should a beginner at the gym do free hand exercises only?

Free hand exercises are those which uses your own bodyweight like push-ups, squats, pull-ups, etc
At the gym, beginners should do free-hand exercises as a warm-up or while building the beginners strength as it could be a great starting point for building strength.
But, beginners should NOT limit their workout to free-hand exercises only.

What's your thought on this, please do share!

While free-hand exercises can be a great starting point for beginners at the gym, it's not necessary to limit oneself to only free-hand exercises. Beginners can benefit from a combination of exercises, including bodyweight exercises, machine-based exercises, and free-weight exercises. Each type of exercise offers unique benefits and challenges, helping beginners to build strength, improve flexibility, and develop overall fitness. It's essential for beginners to start with exercises that match their current fitness level and gradually progress as they become stronger and more comfortable in the gym. Additionally, seeking guidance from a qualified fitness trainer can help beginners create a well-rounded workout routine that aligns with their goals and abilities.

Free-hand exercises are a fantastic starting point for beginners at the gym. They help build foundational strength and improve body awareness, which is crucial for safely performing more advanced exercises. Push-ups, squats, and pull-ups are great examples of these exercises that engage multiple muscle groups and enhance functional fitness.

However, I agree that beginners shouldn't limit themselves to just free-hand exercises. Incorporating a variety of resistance training, including machines and free weights, can offer a more comprehensive workout. This combination can help target different muscle groups more effectively and prevent plateaus by constantly challenging the body in new ways.

In my opinion, a well-rounded fitness routine that includes both free-hand and weighted exercises provides the best path to building strength, endurance, and overall fitness. What are your experiences with incorporating different types of exercises into your routine?
