Mannie's Grand Challenge
This is a personal challenge I've given myself. It's very simple. Lose 75 grams (or more!) a day, until I reach goal weight. I have been slacking in my journey to lose 32 kg, it's taken me 3 years and almost one month so far, and I'm just about to reach halfway. So although I'm still losing, it's pretty much glacial speed. I also spent 8 months dithering about, a few kilograms up, a few kilograms down and repeat.
I live in a little community and walk around the subdivision 5 times, which takes about 45 minutes. I need to do that twice a day. Maybe I will walk to the supermarket or other stores. I'm certainly walking a lot. I also walk in the rain, so I can't use that excuse. One of the perks of living near the equator, although I'll be going back to a cool country soon, no walking in the rain then. I can run there, however. It's too hot to run here.
I track my intake on an app. I want to eat an average of 6,000 kilojoules. This is critical, I feel that I squandered my time in 2021 and 2022 when I tracked for 678 days in a row. I averaged 6,480 kilojoules. If I averaged 6,000 kJ I'd be 9.3 kilograms lighter than I am today.
I've walked around the subdivision 130-150 times and I have to admit that I don't know what 6000 kilojoules and 90 minutes walking actually generates in terms of weight loss. Well, we're going to find out.
What do I get out of the challenge if I achieve my 75 grams a day? I get to feel proud of my losing the second half of 32 kilograms. Because I don't feel proud with what I've achieved, so far.
I'll be posting daily.
