Default Multiple Sclerosis, Asthma, PCOS & Hidradenitis Suppurativa

I have all these plus I have fibroid tumors but those don't seem important enough to mention.
I have MAJOR problems with my legs and at a couple points in the past two-year I have lost my ability to walk.
This is where I am stuck. I am supposed to exercise but doing things like the laundry or dishes put me in pain and on top of that my disease Hidradenitis Suppurativa specifically restricts sweating, but one of the ways to alleviate the disease is to lose weight, it is a double edge sword.
The main problem is with the MS though. Does anyone know any MS friendly exercises with a low sweat factor?

Wow - you do have a lot to deal with.
We aren't doctors here, God knows. so I would be checking with my doctor to find out if he could recommend a good personal trainer -- but I can think of a few things that you might be interested in --

I have a 3-DVD set called Yoga for the Young at heart by Susan Winter Ward (bought it at Media Play) -- It contains a DVD called Yoga - Sitting Fit Any Anytime which you might want to look at.

Richard Simmons also has a sitting tape.

My local rec center pool has a wheelchair lift that allows people to get into the water. Our pool has both shallow water workouts and deep water aerobics, and you can also do your own exercises.

Remember that the most important thing you can do when beginning to take care of yourself is to start moving, but do it with support. We'll be here, so be sure to get involved in some of the support groups or clubs.

Sorry - I misunderstood the part about losing your ability to walk. I have a hard time walking -- I have severe osteoarthritis in both knees, but am too young for knee replacement surgery, so I have also been looking for things that are easy on my balance. I also have asthma, and working out really hard brings on an attack.

The Susan Winter Ward DVD set also includes a stretch called Young at Heart that is an hour-long stretch. It's a good stretch, and is helpful.

Richard Simmons' sitting video is called Sit Tight, look at the reviews on collagevideo.com. It's not just for people who can't walk, but can be good.

I also swim and do water aerobics.

Again, your doctor would be the best source of information about what is best for you, but, to some extent, you will be teaching him what it is you can do.

Yeah I tried my doctor today.
He said I would have to go to Physical Therapy first and I don't understand for what.
My last SEVERE excerbation was two years ago and I did the physical therapy.
I am just getting shuffled around.

i have ms. i can walk relatively fine still, but after about 15 minutes on the treadmill, my right leg goes almost completely numb from the knee down. so i would have to get off, rest for a few minutes, and then get back on. i started taking aqua aerobics classes to supplement the treadmill. they've been great. i can do 2 one hour classes back to back without my symptoms flaring up. the water helps to keep your body temperature from rising too much which keeps the physical symptoms from flaring up. and since you're in the water, nobody can really see you anyway. you can make the class as hard or easy as you want. i would recommend trying it. since i have problems with balance and dizziness, i haven't really been able to get into the yoga classes, but i am thinking about getting a few private classes to help modify the moves for me. good luck.
