What was your favorite group, artist, song and why?
What feeling did it make you remember?
What was your best memory from that time?
Just thought we needed a break from all the "dieting" chat for today.
My favorites were SO MANY!
Cher, the Carpenters, Kenny Rogers, Neil Diamond, Waylon Jenings......etc.
I can remember singing out on the porch at night with a big spoon as a mic.
I loved singing MOON RIVER over and over and over...Dad hated that song. For some reason it was a favorite.
I love to sing.
I listen to a wide variety of songs.
Classical, soft, and oldies. I keep my radio station tuned in to all the oldies. When a favirote like SWEET CAROLINE comes on I crank it up VERY loud and sing my heart out. The looks I get......Makes me
I remember with a smile on my face, dad hollering at me to SING SOMETHING ELSE!!
I would fall to sleep at night with the FM station on till mom would turn it off.
Let there be music today for you in your hearts.
La la la la la la la la la la la la la la !!
On happy notes, know that I care about all of you.
I suck at quizes too. Today I will play my own music at the piano. I have a collection of party pieces that I love and will work on them, mostly classics but the odd folk piece. I am a 60's person!
Darn it, Sharon, I was hoping you'd answered the quiz so I could copy your answers!
I LOVED Simon and Garfunkel. And Eric Clapton.
Now I love jazz (favourite is Fourplay) and classical (Cecilia Bartoli). And some of my daughter's new favourite bands. (Evanescence)
I listen to stuff like Jann Arden and Alannis Morrisette when I'm depressed. (or maybe it MAKES me depressed )
I love music too, and spent part of the night with DS16 watching Austin City Limits on PBS.....STEVIE RAY VAUGHN!!! OH YAH!!!! I'm sure I have some of these wrong, but I decided to do this like a word association test.....

What was your favorite group, artist, song and why?
Depends on my mood for the most part, but I have LOVED the Beatles since I was 5 or 6!! Music makes me: HAPPY, SAD, HORNY, THINK, DANCE.........
What feeling did it make you remember?
Too many to specify
Wow, I can't believe I remembered most of those songs ...
Favorites were Moody Blues, Aerosmith, Pink Floyd ... now I like Stain'd, Fuel, Nickelback and Evanescence ... (I'm old, but the station I can run to in the morning on the treadmill best is "alternative rock" ... )
So many memories ... it would be hard to pick one ... probably just hanging out at the lake in the small town where I grew up ... we didn't have all the organized events that my kids have had!!!
That's an adorable picture Marcie ...
Off to do food shopping, laundry, errands, etc to get ready for the work week ... Have a wonderful afternoon everyone!!!
I'm not too familiar with any of those songs that were listed.
Since I moved here to MS a few years ago, I really love country music. Not the oldies country, but today's like: Faith Hill, Shania Twain, Tim McGraw, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, etc...
Then again I can listen to just about any kind of music...cept rap and hard rock. Those just give me major headaches :lol
What was your favorite group, artist, song and why?
This changes daily, or at least weekly! I LOVE oldies, and my current fav is the cover of the Beatles song "Just the Two of Us" that is on the I AM SAM soundtrack. My DS and I sing this at the top of our lungs in the car...it is a new musical tradition!
What feeling did it make you remember? I don't have many memories of this song from the first time it was popular, but we are sure making some new ones!
What was your best memory from that time? Ah, I try not to dwell in the past. (To be honest, I have a TERRIBLE memory... )
Good afternoon, beauties! I got a very late start today after a tough day yesterday and last night. Just plumb tuckered out, I guess. But now I am up and raring to go! Good thing, as I have a toilet to fix : and a pile of sewing I promised myself I would at least look at.
I had better get the Boot Camp Challenge started before all the recruits go AWOL!
Have a wonderul day as you stroll down memory lane! I know I'll be enjoying a lot of music today, as TV is usually off on the weekends around here and DH plays DJ!
Hey Marcie: Great quiz and I'll give it a try, since I worked with teens when some of this was popular.

What was your favorite group, artist, song and why?
I liked Joy to the world, all you boys and girls now, and also
Jerimiah was a bullfrog ( you can see where my mind goes, very classical: :wink:What the World needs now is another good one.
My really favorite artists came from a few years before these were popular. But I liked the Beatles, and Tony Orlando, Roger Miller, just to name a couple.
What feeling did it make you remember?
Keeping up with the kids in my chorus, and letting them enjoy the music they liked. Sometimes wanting earplugs:
What was your best memory from that time? Great students, teaching me something.

Marcie" Excellent. I was thinking of Deep Purple, and It's a Grand night for Singing. You got all the rest. Even all the numbers. I can never remember just exactly the order, but the band always sang them. Lizzie
