Hello all!
The scale dropped 2.4 pounds in March, I will take it! It is truly weird how you can plug along losing slowly and then bam! down two pounds seemingly for no reason and I guess we "re-set" and on it goes...So officially I am .6 from 80 pounds!! I would love to just say it's 80 pounds, not 78 or 79, etc...so that is my goal for April... .6 pounds.

I have been mogging along, frustrated with scale bobbing up and down 2-4 lbs for weeks before finally moving downward. I have stayed Op since I started Dec 6, 2021. I have never gone this long in my life. Oh there were times I ate more than planned and I tracked every single bite. But although I was devastated, disapointed and angry with myself, I was never over 2000 calories a day, Too much for loss but I didn't gain and I was more diligent after that. I am nearly 67 so my metabolism isn't what it was and I am sensitive to sodium. Not excuses just where I am. Dec I lost 10 lbs and then I slowed so it took me 2 1/2 months to lose the next 10. But starting this weekend I went to IF, Monday I was down a lb and today I am down another 1.5 so I am just half a lb away from a 25lb loss. So what I am saying is don't quit, don't reward yourself with food for a good or a bad wiegh in. Don't allow yourself to make excuses, stay acountable, if you mess up, fess up, write every bite. When I find myself hungry for something I really should not have and cannot control myself with I tell myself my body is ready to burn more fat and it is telling me to eat something so it does not have to burn my own fat. Smile and tell your body to burn the stored fat. I still have a lot to go, but I am taking it one day at a time,. Losing nearly 25 lbs means I have a whole new wardrobe in my own closet. I can bend better, I can move more and I take advantage of moving more to burn more fat. Stay the course,

KStrong Seeing "hide your eyes L&L's Mom" made me laugh out loud literally! Don't worry my husband and my son (the Logan in L&L) are carnivores and you know Easter they will have their ham. Logan brings it over but it's here. LOL ((Olivia and I make all these veganized sides and he brings a small ham for him, my hubby and hubby's parents). I would do it but it gives him an easy thing to bring.

GoneAstray I could have written what you did, I have been there and am there basically. I haven't stayed this on plan ever. On my worst days I might be 2000 but really hardly much more than that. Your advice to others is spot on....we all need to follow this. Congrats on the (almost) 25 pounds!

L&Lsmom,
You are soo close to that milestone, you will make it, you have the tools and the strength. While clothes are fitting that I haven't worn for a while, I took out a rain jacket I bought in 2009. I lost a lot of weight fast going through a divorce after 35 years of marriage. I havent worn it for years, I have put it on but the zipper sides couldn't even see each other. I notice a week or so ago that it was closer and yesterday I gave it a shot and it easily zipped, A bigger deal for me than jeans or shirts, i need this jacket and it was expensive.
Hard to realize Easter is almost here, as a kid my mother did a boiled ham, and it always grossed me out, I am Irish so my tradition was corned beef and cabbage, I just cannot understand how corned beef here is 16.00 lb, It is a tough fatty cut and they only way to get people to eat it was to pump it full of salt and spices. No idea what I will make and it will be only DBF and me. He is Italian so it might be pasta.

GoneAstray Thank you! I did gain some again after posting and now it's back to .6 away again. It's so close, but some how 80 sounds so much better than 79.4. A BIG congrats on zipping up the jacket! Those "non scale victories" are the best! I can also relate with the divorce as well. I weighed my highest ever before my ex husband and I separated. I was 310 pounds in 2001. I did lose after we split but never got below about 230. I got married to my husband in 2003, had Olivia and mostly then was around 250's to 260's. Me being this "low" is truly new territory for me.

Default A New Determination

Hello! I have never been able to stick to my diets, but I am approaching this life change with a whole new perspective this time. Before, I always had trouble staying motivated to reach my goals. People always told me to set goals with rewards, but I could never find any goals that were motivating to me. The things I really wanted to do, I wouldn't have been able to do bc I was a single mom with little money and no time or way to do anything with babies in tow.

My children are now preteens and there are things I would really like to do with them that I can't do because of my weight, things like ziplining and zorbing and such. I am determined to lose weight so that we can do all of these fun things I always dreamed of doing with them when they got older. I WILL DO THESE. I'm starting late for April, but I refuse to keep putting things off to wait until the first of the month or the end of the holiday, etc.

I am doing a Keto-ish diet. I'm not measuring a thing - no carbs, no calories, not a thing. I refuse. lol... I'm just going to do my best and make changes as I go.

Yesterday's meals:
Breakfast: 3 eggs fried in coconut oil, 1 oz of turkey lunchmeat, 1/4 cup of shredded cheese, 1/4 cup of diced bell peppers
Lunch: Tuna-Egg Salad (no mayo OR avocado since the suckers weren't ready, grrr...) with Onions and Celery on Romaine
Dinner: I fell asleep and woke up in the middle of the night. I picked the meat off of a chicken thigh from my slow cooker and went back to sleep.

Hi everyone! I am still at 184.6. Technically I went up again the next day and now it's back to 184.6, but whatever...no difference to report as far as the stats go. I tend to gain some when I have low fiber carby foods and or salty foods which will also help us retain water. Most days I eat very high fiber being vegan but the junk food-ish days happen. LOL
Giddy Bang Bang Welcome! I can tell you my mom is doing Keto and she has done great. She has gone from XL to medium. She has always been somewhat overweight...never as much I have been, but she is sticking with it and is in her 70's. It can be done!

Yesterday, I woke up and weighed myself to find I lost 0.1 pound. After losing much more the previous two days, I realized I may not be able to do just Keto-ish. lol I switched up a few things and am down another 0.7lb. A few changes I am making:

1. Intermittent Fasting: I wasn't go to before, but I am going to start making sure there is a 12 hour window between dinner and breakfast the next day.
2. Carbs: I was being very picky and only eating low carb veggies and fruits (cauliflower, greens, berries, etc.), but until I really get going, I'm going to cut out all but 10g of carbs per day.
3. Cheese: I remember doing this diet when I was about 19, and I just dropped the weight so quickly. I figured I would follow the same thing I did then, but either I'm remembering wrong and I didn't eat as much cheese as I remembered or my body was just younger and the cheese didn't matter as much. lol I read some books last night, and I'm also giving up the cheese.

We shall see what happens. Overall, since Monday I have lost 5.2lbs. That's 5 less pounds than I was. I had a surgery for girly issues recently and I have another appointment next month. It is my goal that when I go back, I put a nice little dent in my weight from one appointment to the next. Even though I told myself I would be happy with a pound a week, I really want to have some nice changes recorded in my medical history. It just makes it more official to me. lol

loganandlivsmom Thank you for telling me about your mother. That is an amazing change. I really hope to be able to do the same. I am so excited about getting out and being able to do things with my girls. My 10 year old is really excited about exercising with me. Everyday she wakes up and excitedly asks me, are you exercising today? Can I do it with you? It just shows me how important it is to make good decisions for my girls. They are watching.

Hi everyone!

I had a great Easter day with the family, and it was busy busy as most holidays. I always remind myself we are ble4ssed to have family to be with. Not everyone in their 50's has both sets of parents still around and they live nearby. My weight did go up two pounds and one of those is already gone. So I was 184.6, it went up to 186.6 and am now 185.6. I know in a few days those holiday extra carbs-water weight-calories will be gone.

Giddy Bang Bang It's great that your girls are excited to join in with you. I can just picture it. My daughter would be the same way at that age. Some unsolicited advice I would give is to not give yourself too many "rules." I would say to stick to whatever calories you want to eat at more than too many carbs or not eating after a certain time, etc...Honestly I haven't exercised that much and still have lost almost 80 pounds. Exercise will help some but really it's how much you are eating. I looked up calorie calculators and saw I was eating about 2400 calories a day at my starting weight. I had myself eat no more than 2000 and the weight came off. When my weight was so much lower that 2000 had me not losing I would lower it. Just another idea to help out...of course you can take it or leave it.

Hi again!
I am actually happy to report that the 184.6 is back! One of these days I may actually see 184 even, but who knows? Honestly I know I am tracking my calories like a champ and I am literally eating the 1800 which is what I would need to maintain this weight. I need to start eating fewer calories and actually start exercising to get the scale move more. I used to think "why walk a mile and it only burns 100 calories?" If we did this every day the 100 calories would be 3000 calories burned and almost one pound would be burned. I am closer to my goal I set for myself so I have to start changing things up to get the scale to move. Wish me luck!

How is everyone else doing? Check in if you can, it helps keep us on course.
