Default Weight Loss Blues

So does this happen to anyone else?

For the first 7 weeks I lost weight really good. Then all of a sudden, nothing. For 5 weeks I stayed the same even though I was still dieting and exercising. Then just as sudden, I lose 8+ pounds on the scale in 2 weeks.

Now I'm back again with the same thing. For the past 3 weeks I am only down .4 even though the diet and exercise are the same. I've gone up and down pounds while dieting before. That isn't new to me. Just because you do well doesn't mean it always shows up on the scales. However, what is new to me is the weeks at a time while losing nothing. Usually, it is up and down all over the place.

According to "numbers" for how I am dieting and exercising, I should be losing between 1 and 2 pounds a week. I've tried quite a few online calculators and they all say about the same. I'm even put in "light" exercise even though I'm exercising 30-60 a day.

Still. It's frustrating. I'd like to make goals to weigh a certain amount by a certain date. It just doesn't happen that way.

Anyone else have this issue?

Hi!
I have had this problem before. It might be worth reading about metabolism to see if you need to add in a higher calorie day, like calorie cycling. It sounds counter-intuitive, but there is a fair bit of research on calorie cycling. Could be worth a read. Good luck!
