Enquiring Minds have to know. I have so much to lose and I know I will have loose skin, I know they do surgery, but I figure you have to wait awhile before the surgery--what do you do with the loose skin in the mean time.
I have been oogling Al Roeker every morning and I think I see something wrapped around his stomach, but I could be imagining this. Any how, I think my computer is messed up when I go to find other smiley faces. anyone else having that problems.
I had a tummy tuck. I didn't lose as much as Al Roker, but I still had a healthy looking apron. You just pull your pants up and 'over'. If you start noticing more closely, you'll probably see women that look like they have a stuffed tube sock sideways in their pants. Hopefully you can get insurance to cover the surgery. Mine did not, but many do. Meanwhile, if possible, you may want to try and tuck your underwear in the folds of your skin to prevent chafing. I kept a lot of powder and ointments on mine when it flared up. I heard there is a prescription cream that is good for that, but I'm not sure what it is, or if it really exists.
ketoconazole powder or ointment. aka nystatin. and yes it does work. and if you're getting infections, it's a big help in getting insurance approval for the skin-ectomy.
I did this in reverse. I had the tummy tuck last year because of the infections and the back pain. Also the Dr thought that it would be an incentive to lose weight. It didn't work (the losing of the weight) Insurance paid because of the documanted problems. I would persue all avenues if it bothers you go to a good surgeon and see what they think. I doesn't hurt for a consultation. Grammy
I'm not now but when I got down to goal my pants were always a size 14-16, I couldn't get past that because of the skin. I would always wear shirts over my pants, never a tucker here
Lately I've been thinking about surgery to remove the skin ONCE I LOSE THE WEIGHT AND I WILL I would love to tuck in my shirts but with the belly just hanging there, it looks awful.
Good luck and don't worry yourself sick about it, just deal with it as it comes.
