Default Vivacious Valentines Wanted--February 2021 Daily Check-In & Accountability Thread

to the Vivacious Valentines Wanted, February Daily Check-in and Accountability Thread!

Valentine's Day is the one holiday each year where romantic and loving gestures take center stage. Genuine love requires sacrifice and investment, and every month when we post to this thread or others, we are stating publicly that we love and respect ourselves enough to prioritize health and wellness. Sure, we stumble and at times get knocked to the ground. Vivacious valentinesare not perfect but that's not what this journey is about.

February is a short month but still enough time to address and/or challenge ourselves with actions that support loving ourselves more. Maybe this means stepping away from your work a couple of times a day to do some deep breathing, turning off your phone and media when you get home or sign off from work, committing to stocking the fridge with good and healthy food, or spending quality time with your children, family, and friends or by yourself. Maybe it means accepting where you are right now and embracing a work in progress mentality. This month let's vow to be our own Vivacious Valentine every day by making good and healthy choices in all facets of our life.

Whether you are a long time poster, brand new to this thread or 3FC, or a lurker wanting to join the conversation, I want to welcome you. Here you can post your daily weight, share workouts and way of eating (WOE) plans, struggles and successes, life adventures and anything else. This is a warm and supportive thread so please settle in and make yourself at home.

Wishing everyone a wonderful and loving February!

Thank you Curvy for continuing the thread for this month. I’m carrying over some of last month’s goals as quarantine interfered with meeting them.

1) Walk outside with Loki for at least thirty minutes per day, every day

2) Weigh, measure, and track food

3) Avoid take away—stick to cooking over 90% of food consumed at home. The date night’s will be fewer this month as boyfriend will be travelling for most of the month and half of next month (maybe there will be a little less of me here physically when he returns home )

4) Hydration: drink at least 3.5 L of hydrating fluids

I’m keeping my goal of 219 from last month since I didn’t quite reach it. I also like that it aligns with one of my challenge goals in another thread. Best of luck to everyone as we tackle our goals!

Thank you so much curvynotlumpy for this new monthly thread. Let’s make February a great month!

I am happy to report that I did manage 800 minutes of activity last month. I had miscalculated some and had to do 2.5 hours of physical activity yesterday to reach my goal, but I did it. I only lost one pound in January, but I managed to get back to eating well and I stopped gaining weight. This month, I need to focus more on hydration, the goal still is to drink 2.75L of water each day. And my fitness goal will be to complete (at least) 22 Fitness Blender workouts. I want to see if setting a different kind of fitness goal each month will work for me.

Wishing everyone great success, whatever your goals may be!

"Vivacious Valentines" I love it!
Hi everyone! I am going to do another hopefully "easy" goal which is two pounds. Two pounds and I will have lost 40 pounds. Keep plugging away at those mini goals!

Hello everyone!

I posted the "easy" two pound goal to get to an even 40 pounds and.....I weigh in yesterday and bam! Up two pounds!! How? I know I didn't overeat so I know it's probably just the scale fluctuating. It must have been artificially low before for some reason, or it's too high now? Oh well. I still will aim for the big 4-0 and I am not going to stop trying. I wanted to post this so others don't think we should only post how great we are doing. Sharing the ups and downs of the scale is a more real picture.

RunningRedHead Thanks! I am looking forward to seeing your soon to be 70 pounds!

Martine Congrats on making your movement goal for January!

Keep working hard on your goals everyone!

Yoooo! Yo yo yo! Guess what suckas? Guess freekin what! 299.8! 299.8! Whaaaa? Who the? Where the! Un fracking believable! I can't believe I have lost 100 M F pounds! Come on man! I have never been more proud of myself! Oh man...I'm dancing all night! Whoohoo! I am so bad A! I love u guys so much. The best day I've had in a while. I just can't believe it. I've been closing in, but Holy Cow! Needless to say...I am never eating food again. This feels so good, I wanna lose all my weight! I want to weigh 0, zero pounds. I don't know how I'm going to react if I bounce back over 300, so, I just won't eat! Lol lmao. I will remember this moment until I die. I feel like there is a new family member or something. Like a long lost cousin! I know I still have a ways to go, about 40 lbs, but this is huge. Huge for me! I'm so glad u guys could be a part of this. Oh geez, I'm getting all teary eyed. I think I'm going to cry. Now that I don't weigh 400 lbs I am allowed to have a sensitive side. I look almost normal. I have a lot of loose skin and I look a little chubby but i carry most of my scars on my soul and they are not visually apparent. For all intent and purposes, people would not know I was ever so obese. I'm so happy and so sad! I'm so excited and apprehensive. Emotional rollercoaster. I hear you in my head Martine..."u better walk this off" so I'm gonna go cry and laugh myself a mile or so. 😜😝😘

William47: Big congratulations on seeing breaking the 200 lb barrier! Well done, sir. Well done! Enjoy that floating on air feeling and let it provide the momentum you need to keep going.

loganandlivsmom: Two pounds may seem very "doable", but every pound lost is hard fought for so don't undersell your goals . Look where they've taken you!

Martine: Great job meeting your 800 minute activity goal last month. I know you were busy so this is a big accomplishment. Twenty-two workouts sounds like a real challenge but you got this!

RunningRedHead: I love your list of goals. You and Martine create very specific action plans. I find that it makes a difference seeing them written down versus having them hanging around in your head. How are you feeling post-Covid? Any residual "ickyness"?

Happy Friday! Glad to see friends made it over to the February chat.

I hope everyone had a good week and is looking forward to the weekend. It's been a very busy week and I wanted to check in before more time flew by. I'm gearing up for two different recruitment in one of the units I supervise. We interview and hire our peers this time of year so between next Monday and February 20 we'll interview sixteen students for our peer adviser positions, and four students for our graphic designer position. I'm also getting ready to post the staff position I have open. Hopefully it will post next week with interviews to happen early to mid-March. Not going to lie, between the recruitment, interviews, and taking on the work of the staff member who left, it's a lot and I'm feeling it. My skin is also giving me grief but I know it's a reflection of the stress and my bad/inconsistent eating of late. Still, lots to be grateful for and one of those things is the beginning of the weekend.

Hello everyone!
I am happy to report the scale has gone back down again, so it's on to the original goal of two more pounds to get to the big 4-0! Even with the Superbowl I counted calories the best I could and didn't go crazy with eating. I tried to plan out the food we'd have and who would believe that planning works? LOL
curvynotlumpy It sounds like you have an incredibly busy time coming up. I can't recommend planning your food enough! Hang in there!

I am looking forward to seeing everyone's progress this month and beyond. Keep plugging away at even the "easiest" goal, it really does help you mentally and emotionally.

VickieLou: Always nice to see you checking in each month! Wishing you a successful February!

loganandlivsmom: Glad to hear that the scale has dropped you back down to where you thought you should be. Best of luck as you work to the 40 pound lost goal. Like you, I did some Super Bowl eating, but I didn't go off the rails.

We are a quiet group this month. I hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy. My quietness comes from being overwhelmed at work. By the end of the day I'm just wiped out. I have been reading and keeping up on posts, though. The position I have open is about ready to be posted to the public but in the meantime my remaining staff and I are doing what we can and prioritizing until we have a new hire. Weight has stayed the same and I keep gaining and dropping the same two pounds. My caffeine intake has increased and I *think* that and stress are what's contributing to my acne breakouts. Other than being ridiculously busy with work, not a lot else happening in my world. Vaccines are happening on campus which is great to see especially as all of the Chancellor's in the University of California System have committed to in-person classes this fall.

A lovely evening to all.

Hello my beautiful friends. Happy Valentine's day to all of you. Here is to flowers not chocolates. So I made a Facebook account and have been catching up with old and long time friends. Its interesting and pretty wonderful. I still need to work some things out like, I don't mind making some of these people my friends but does that mean I have to b subjected to all the silly sh..stuff they post? I also find the level of dishonesty and cruelty profoundly disturbing. I probably won't stay there long, but its worth it to find friends and family. Especially long lost family.
On the diet front, man what a turn around. I'm so glad to be able to be obsessive and compulsive again. I feel like my old self just with a new awareness. No, an awakening. I am quickly shedding the different support structures I had set up and as I become stronger I realize how low I had been. I think my quest to find out why can resume after I climb from my hole. Today I weigh 298 with cloths and shoes. I bounced back over 300 a couple days but the trajectory was good and I am confident I will not see a number start with 3 ever again. I couldn't lose weight for a long time and I am making up for lost time. The exercise component is huge and I cannot over state its effect! I feel like my goal was so far away, realistically unobtainable, that I just put my head down and marched along, never thinking I would ever see the light much less the end of the tunnel. I looked up and was surprised to see, not only my goal, but how far I had come. I understand that my journey is way, way not over but it does give me hope. I think I really believe I can do this. I've been trying to educate myself more about diet and weight loss but its crazy out there. I did start taking a multi vitamin but it all seems commercialized. I was going to buy a weight set for the 100,000 time and really use it. Thankfully all that stuff was sold out, all I could get was a set of dumbbells. I can already tell its not gonna work. I find I difficult to "exercise" when I have so much work to do. Here is the catch. I know exercise is important and its not the same. Shoveling snow, although effective, isn't as targeted as 15 minutes on a stair stepper. It is the psychological issues that keep presenting obstacles. I have been throwing them on the back burner as fast as I can. I have even stooped so low as to use base motivations to achieve my goal. I do worry about the toll on my psychi but healing sometimes necessitate s a revisiting of pain. Whoa whoa whoa... Before I get to deep, lol I have been experiencing some strange self image issues. Like when I look at myself in the mirror, I've never been so self conscious. I did an archaeological tour stream on u tube. My friends were all supportive and they say stuff like "u look great" or "holy crow, how much weight did you lose? Like 200lbs?" But when I looked I saw someone I didn't recognize. Some dopey looking dude, I didn't even sound right. Anyway, anyone else go through this? Is there a definition? I never liked cameras or mirrors but this is new, intense, and getting worse. Any advice would be appreciated. Well, that enough from me!
My new low was 292 but today I am 298.
