Group Activity for Week of 9/14-1769 Minutes! Whooo Hoooo! We did it...with a day still left in the week!
Ruth-if you can get your doggies to do WATP, let me know...our Emma needs to lose a few!
Sharon..."clench" away, dear! I hope your little exercise session at the computer counts...I do stuff like that all the time...lunges in the kitchen, squats in the bathroom while brushing my teeth...I must look like a complete idiot!

:
Private Harmony! Welcome to boot camp!

We are here to learn. We are here to work hard. We are here to have a blast! Just stick with your goals about exercising...as you said, just because you missed a day it doesn't undo all the good things you are doing for your body!
Lavender...WTG girl! You'll be up over 20 minutes in no time at all!
Ellis-If you grocery shopped like me you'd have a lot more than that! I forget so many things I run around like a chicken with my head cut off. Drive me crazy, but then again, I suppose it gets a little activity into my day, heh?
Lizzie-how'd that line dancing go? I added your activity from yesterday (or the day before...whenever that was!) so not to worry!
Oh my...Tammy Faye! She was on the TODAY show....Still looks exactly the same! How does she DO that to her eyes? Not that I want to emulate her look, but I'm dying to know! House paint?
Kathy, come back when you can stay and visit! Just giving you a hard time. I know you have a very busy schedule...great job fitting all that activity in!
Now, on the the short topic of the day. All week long I have been struck by the irony of modern fitness. I mean, we rely on treadmills, elliptical machines, gyms, and other equipment to get our exercise. We use heart rate monitors, VCR's, Walkmen, radios, videos, and computer tracking programs to get into shape. We post on computer message boards, search the net for information, order books about health over the internet, and create cyber-journals to track our progress.
My point? I think it is a hoot that the very cause of our collective weight problem is also part of the solution! We, as citizens of developed countries, are overweight because we are increasingly sedentary. Why? Because technology has taken away the manual labor. But our bodies still need it! So...we create our own manual labor in the form of exercise! And how do we do that? Frequently by using the selfsame technology that got us into this predicament to begin with!
I am not advocating that we all throw away our computers

and move into the mountains to chop wood! Just remarking on the irony of the whole thing. Technology can be our friend, right?
Okay, the challenge for the weekend is this: Concentrate on the trinity...food, water, exercise. Spend a bit of time thinking about your program and see if it is working for you. If it is, great. If not, time to make some changes. Don't get stuck in an ineffective routine just because it feels safe. I will be starting a new weight lifting routine this week as I need to step up my efforts to build some muscle. I'll keep you all posted!
Squadron, ten hut!

Have a great day!

Dismissed!
