I tend to eat to cope with emotions and would like to learn more about dealing with them in healthy ways. What are some of the healthy ways you deal with emotions?
I really don't have a perfect solution to this, but something that has been really helping me lately is developing a hobby that makes me feel good. I've been doing digital art, which is nice because 1. No mess or prep, 2. I can be proud of it, so it gives me the good feelings I am looking for, 3. It keeps my hands busy and makes it impossible to eat as I do it.
I started using exercise as an alternative to eating and it actually works well for anger and even stress. I find if my body is tired out I can let the anger or stress build up so much. ANd a good long elliptical session tends to wear me out but not make me hungry while keeping me out of the kitchen, too
