Default What are you looking forward to the most?

So today is only day two for me of what I assume will be a very long journey. And it's been a bit of a difficult day. So I'm making a list of things I'm looking forward to when I've lost some weight. Hopefully I'll add on as I go. But join me if you like!
1. wearing a t-shirt without trying to stretch it out so it hangs better
2. buttoning my favourite jacket rather than letting it hang open because it looks cool...okay actually because it doesn't close!
3. not having those red marks where my bra strap cuts into me
4. wearing my skirts lower on my waist. Skirts are great, aren't they? When they get tight you just pull them up a bit and they "fit".

I will definitely think of some more!

Love these kind of threads, thanks momwannabe!

Getting out of bed sitting up .. versus rolling out sideways
Climbing stairs effortlessly
Feeling my pants loose around my legs .. instead of skin tight
Not having my belly move in different directions when I'm walking
Starting to walk and ceasing to waddle

Best of luck on getting to goal - you will do it!!

Follena, I love the belly one. My jelly belly is really not cool!

Being able to tie my shoelaces while they are on my feet, instead of tying them and then forcing my feet in.
Taking fewer medications
Buying off the rack
Not feeling like I'm going to knock over the rack while moving through small shopping aisles
Jeans that wear out somewhere other than the inner thigh first

I do that with my sneakers, can't tie them on my feet because my gut gets in the way, so I pre-tie them loosely and use a shoehorn to get them on, lost without the shoehorn !

Funny how we learn little tricks like that, eh ?

I can relate! Went to the dentist a while ago and bumped my body into the automatic door at the entrance. It really hurt!! And I remember thinking Big Girl needs to lose a few. Couple months later (and a few pounds lighter), I walked through that doorway no problem.

my goodness , I identify with everyone of those issues !

Too fat to tie shoes, check !

Fewer meds, I'm taking 8 prescriptions now, doc wants me to slowly lose weight to reduce that number, but she has my high blood pressure down to typically around 125/88, pretty decent for a guy that is 112 lbs overwight, it was once ridiculously high, check !

buying off the rack, I had to resort to mail-order from Haband for jeans, way to big of a waistline to buy at Walmart. 53" now was once like 59" at my peak. I can do Walmart 4X sweatpants, but not very stylish, check !

I've knocked over some store displays in my day, check !

Jeans wearing out in inner thighs, not exactly but my problem was the waistline getting too tight way too much muffin-top action going on as my waist was expanding rapidly, semi-check !

I was blown away by your stats, you lost 107.8 lbs in less than 11 months ! THAT IS AWESOME GIRL !. Your BMI went from 41.9 to 25 in that time, you were even fatter than I am now, I am at 40 BMI.

How did you manage to lose about 10 lbs a month for 11 months on average ?

aNY WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY LIKE A GASTRIC BYPASS OR something ? Hard to imagine that loss without some sort of help !

I hope you are successful in keeping it off, dear !

in inner thighs

Uh Oh! Do I have stats showing wrong somewhere? Where did you see 107.8 pounds? I've lost 69.8 pounds in about 11 months. I started at 267.4, or just under 42 BMI to currently 197.6, or just under 31 BMI Just diet and exercise and getting my hormones balanced and meds just right (I have PCOS and hypothyroid).

I am hoping to go from Morbidly Obese to just Overweight before my 1 year is up next month though. 6 pounds to go in about 6 weeks.

I see where you are seeing it. My signature only has some of the goals met. Some are still ahead of me.

am I allowed to chip in from the opposite end of the journey, and say what I love about losing 30% of my bodyweight last year?
  • wearing any style of clothes I fancy cos it all looks good
  • jumping straight out of bed in the morning and striding up the road to the gym with loads of energy, whilst catching surprising looking glimpses of myself in shop window reflections
  • weighing in every morning and plotting it on my graph
  • just feeling really well and strong and fit ALL THE TIME
  • collecting all the compliments from people i don't see often
  • have just signed up at the gym for some personal training on learning to walk on my hands - sure wouldn't have been doing that this time last year!
  • deciding this weekend whether work commitments will let us book a mountain biking holiday in Jordan for 6 weeks time - wouldn't have considered that either
  • already booked a 2 week trekking holiday in the Dolomites and a weeks skiing in New Zealand for later in the year (would have done these badly previously)
The message is that whatever you're doing ITS COMPLETELY WORTH IT x100000%, so keep at it and get it done!

Ange:thanks for those! It helps to think of being able to do all of those things. Wearing any style clothes must be great. I think I should start a clothes savings fund now so I can do a bit of splurging when I've lost weight. Previous jelly bean money, now new jeans money!

haha momwannabe - yes, start saving! You'll want to be buying a few things all through the journey too, so it's not just the final wardrobe change to bear in mind!! Guess that's part of the 'problem' that you end up moving through so many clothing sizes - another reason to go as fast as possible for me - just skip a few and hang out a few weeks til i fit in the next one (in aus/uk sizes I went from 14-12-10-8-6, in 6 months)
