Default weight just wont go

i'm in my 50's
and weigh in the 250's and
my weight is affecting my health.

i cant seem to lose weight.
ive been dieting for many years
and ive proven to myself that dieting
does not work (weight comes off and
comes back with extra)

(health conditions dont allow for
more than 10 minutes exercise a day)

So how do i get the weight off?

You haven't proven that dieting doesn't work. There are many diets. Some will work for you and others won't. Which diets have you tried?

If you want to succeed, you need a diet that you can stick to forever. If you haven't already tried it, I suggest the Mediterranean diet. It's a balanced diet with no excluded food groups and no extreme calorie restrictions, and you can find the foods in any supermarket, so it's easy to follow.

Althoug we know that losing weight can require effort, deprivation is not an appealing idea to anyone. Try doing healthy little changes in your diet and stick with them.

Hi,

The first thing you want to do is to find out how many calories you need a day.

For that, I need your exact height, weight, age, sex, and activity level ranging from 1-5

1. Sedentary (little or no exercise)
2. Lightly active (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week)
3. Moderately active (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week)
4. Very active (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days/week)
5. Extra active (very hard exercise/sports & physical job or 2x training)

The truth

------------------------

The next step is to make a list of what you are eating.
Don't try to eat healthier while making this list, otherwise, you will make it harder for yourself.

A good idea would be to take pictures of all your meals and snacks doing the day and write them down in a word document before you go to bed.

Post it in here so we can take a look at it

Do you have any health issues?

------------------------

By loosing only 10% of your body fat you will increase your lifespan by 5-10 years. Pretty amazing right?

I agree that "dieting" doesn't work. Because "dieting" is a temporary thing. You need to make permanent changes to your diet that you can live with forever. For me, that meant making small changes, one at a time and sticking with them until they were routine. Then making another small change. It takes longer to get to a healthy way of eating, but I've gradually gone from cookies and chips to veggies and protein and it felt totally natural to do it. I don't deprive myself of anything, but it has gotten natural to just have 1 cookie instead of half a bag, and I rarely eat anything with added sugar or salty snacks anymore because my body just doesn't crave them. But it has taken me 10 months to get to this point. But even the small changes I made along the way were enough to help me drop almost 70 pounds so far, and I'm confident I won't fall back into old bad habits anytime. So I'm a fan of small, slow changes that you can live with forever, that ultimately lead to large results.

If you want a "diet" I agree that the Mediterranean diet is a decent one, partly because it isn't a "diet", but rather a healthier way of eating.

Hey its important to never give up and personally I tried a diet I read about on daniels.fitness.blog (just paste it in the URL) about burning unwanted fat quickly and it did wonders. You should definitely check it out. Hope it helps.
