Default How are you going to start? Or started?

Do you aven any plan how are you going to start your diet? Exercising?

Or you already started and you have a tip for the other starting?

My expirience from years ago showed that the best way to cut craiving for food and carbs is to eat meat meat meat for 5-7 days. Its not nice, but it works. After that there are no cravings.

Also, if you are fed up with all kind of meat you can eat some fresh cheese from cow. Boiled egs also.

I hope I will do that after Easter! And I will try to move every day by walking around.

What is your plan?

Hi ladylike! I started 4 weeks ago and have lost 11 pounds so far. That is not much and I still have a lot to go but I feel great. I don't call it a diet but a lifestyle change. I am not deprived but find myself having to fight my thoughts that are telling me I need carbs to fill up. My plan is stick with low carb, high protein. I use my fitness pal app on my phone to track my intake and weight. It frequently yells at me for not eating enough calories and I have to force myself to eat more before submitting my daily log (I never thought that would be a problem). I love your advice of eating nothing but meat for 5-7 days. That would have helped a bunch because that first week was brutal. Good luck to us, we got this!!

Hi Justsillyyou :-)
Thank you for your answer! I agree with you! I am also looking for a lifestyle change, because I think that is the only thing it has a point! I have tried all the diets! I am almost 44 years old and I finally realised that lifestyle change is the thing I should do! So I would like to join you on the same path if you dont mind! I hope you will stay in touch!

The Easter is gone and I woke up and said that to myself - what now! I started easy and from tomorrow I will do it for real - lots of walking around, eating proteins and veggies as more as I can, with some olive oil and animal fat. Yes, Yes, we use that in Europe fat from animals :-) real one That is healthy!

I will start tomorrow with "English breakfast" - ham and eggs and walking around town doing errands. Or walking around the lake for one hour I did not decide it yet. Its a start! And I will treat myself with some make-up foundation, just because I decided to love myself enough to put my health first.

Eating meat and fresh chees and eggs for a few days usually helps to stop crave carbs. I will start that from tomorrow. Wish me luck!

One thing more - you did great! I am tempted to do "fast loosing" but I realised how stupid that is! Be proud of yourself, you did great! Are you a runner?

I started wearing my fitbit every day (and actually making a commitment to make my steps goal every day!). I've also been going to the gym 6-7 days a week My first mini goal is 225 lbs, which will be my lowest weight in 4 years! So excited to see that number, even though I still have a long way to go.

Hello! 6-7 times a week hitting the gym? Good for you! Respect!

I am just guessing what fitbeat is but I guess some kind of gadget that counts steps

I did not do a lot from the first posting, job was stressful, but I am going to start from tomorrow agin - cuting carbs in meals and take some hike on weekend. I hope the weather will be o.k. for that.

I am adict to carbs, so I hope I will manage it at least for 1 week. After that it will be better.

You people are such an inspiration. My issue is with water retention. I've had the same weight for six months and the scale won't budge neither up nor down. It's really pissing me off because I've incorporated the Gabriel Method into my daily routine, reduced sugar and salt, upped my intake of fibre and I'm still struggling. Sigh!
But thank you all for your tips. I will continue to live a healthy lifestyle and hopefully one day, my body will start listening to me.

Hi Jaguar!
Dont worry, the body will react!
If you have excess water retention maybe you can try keto diet. After 10 days I drain water from the body even more than I think I like. But if you have excess water than I think it can work.
Also, it is great that you cut on sugar and salt, that should help also.

I did not do anything. Stress is cilling me. I will start from Saturday and I have to do shoping before that. Stock on meat and vegetables.

Yes, a Fitbit does count steps, and some can do a lot more than that. I feel like going to the gym almost every night keeps me motivated to eat better.

Maybe try eating Keto for one meal? It's hard to make a huge change at once.

Have you thought about contacting a nutritionist? They might have some ideas!

I agree with Kelly that nutricionist would have some ideas...are they expensive in USA? Can an average person pay for that? Just wondering...

I have to organize myself, I think that is 50 procent of sucess. I am stressed out at work but that cant be excuse...so I will go to shop for groceries today and instead of *****ing about my work - go outside for a walk! I think that is a good plan.

Can we have thread were we can just **** chat?
