Default Having trouble with calories in homemade stuff?

I’m having trouble trying to figure out calories in homemade foods/stuff without nutrition things on the back.

Tonight I had 2oz of white bread. Which was a medium size piece. I️ calcluted it at 160 calories. I️ think that was a bit high. But I️ found that info online. I’d rather be under then over anyways.

We also had pork roast and I️ calculated a smaller piece at 200 calories. So far according to my Fitbit, I’ve eaten 1,050 calories I’m not sure If I’m slightly over or way under that.

Does anyone have any info on how much 2oz Of homemade white bread from a bread maker has? Or a small piece of pork roast?

Homemade stuff is tricky, unless you make it yourself and weigh the ingredients. I use a food scale and MyNetDiary app and it calculated 2 oz of white bread at 243 calories (bread is super calorie dense) and 3 oz of pork to be 162 calories. I usually try to find the closest I can match up food to calculator and make my best guess. As long as you're not gorging on bread, a few calories off won't make a huge difference.

I am not familiar with MyNetDiary, but I use Fitday online. It's probably similar. If I were you, I would get a food scale and weigh things like the pork roast to see how many oz you have, then look up pork roast to find out how many calories per ounce. It will matter if you are eating pork loin or pork butt which contains more fat, and will matter how it's prepared. You have to add in any butter or oil used in preparation.

hi HPR, agree with the reply from others, but looking at your stats you've gone from 313 to 170, so i'd say keep doing whatever it is you're doing cos you know how to get results!! Congratulations!
