Default Hello Again, 5 years later!

Hello chicks! I'm back after a 5 year hiatus. No, a miracle did not happen and I am not suddenly thin. I wish I had better news to report after 5 years - or even after 11 years when I joined 3fc. But I am still 300+, just at 329 today. Nevertheless, when I logged on again I was surprised to see an actual loss of 19 pounds. Been around 330 for several years. Can't believe I was 348 when I last logged on. I will be grateful for this small change and continue the work.

This year I am trying 2000 calorie per day diet and exercising every day even if it is just 5-10 minutes at a time. I am using MyFitnessPal to track calories and exercise units. I still hate calorie counting, but the website is fun to use and helps you stay on track.

My current mini-goal is to get under 300 in time for a class reunion and family visit in a few months. Each day is a challenge, but I am making progress. Down 5 lbs this week and it is not over yet. Wish me luck. I hope 2018 brings everyone what they hope for, and much better health for all.

Welcome back! You're not the only one that comes and goes around here! *Guilty!* I'm a calorie counter too and I hate it! It does work and keep me accountable though (when I keep with it). I think with aging makes it a harder battle every year. (As my first major weight loss was when I was 20...no CC or strict diet, just started exercising!!) So fast forward to my mid 20s, it took a lot more effort to lose weight. It is always doable, but with less food it seems!

Thanks Judge Dread. I had a great deal of success with the South Beach diet in 2007 losing 40 pounds. But when I came off the plan, the carb cravings came roaring back, and it just wasn't sustainable. I've never had much success with calorie counting, but MyFitnessPal is keeping me engaged enough for now. Daily exercise helps too. Hoping for the best in 2018.
