Default Scars and relationship

Hello!!
So, I lost a bunch of weight, which left me with loose skin on my arms, thighs, stomach, everywhere... I’m only 27, but I always had the worst skin ever, I started getting stretch marks at 13 yo on my inner elbows, shoulders, back of my knees... the worst part is that I wasn’t that big, of course, I got stretch marks everywhere else.
Anyway, since that age I decided that I would remain single ‘til the day I died, I’ve been restraining myself succesfully, not that hard, just thinking about allowing a man I care for, see me naked makes me goosebumps! Terrified!
I’m going to have a full body lift, tummy tuck, arm lift, thigh lift, the whole package.
There is a guy I like who is a body builder, I don’t think I will allow myself to go any further with him or anybody, but there is a topic that keeps going around in my mind, How men react to a lot of these scars? (Like it’s not enough with my stretch marks)

Like you, I have a lot of stretch marks from when I was a teenager. That batch is faded now, but I did get some new pink ones as an adult too. With time, they too have faded. No man I've been with has cared about them. Men get them as well, though maybe not as much as us women I would urge you to reflect on the goodness of your body and all the wonderful things it helps you to do! You are not as your alias implies, "damaged goods." The man I married is good, kind, intelligent and handsome. He was attracted to me at my heaviest weight and loves me, stretch marks, WLS scars, cellulite and all. I think you will be pleasantly surprised that men are not as judgemental as you fear, especially when you are intimate with them! *hugs*

So i want to ask you guys how do you feel about marks / scars on your SO? I’ve been self conscious about the scars / marks that i have. It’s marks left from my eczema and just skin sensitivity due to stress or other external causes. I have them all over my lower leg, and on my back. They’re so much of them my right leg is 2/3 sides darker than the other leg and kinda patchy.

Honestly? Most people care way less than you think. If I like someone, stuff like scars, marks, uneven skin… it just becomes part of them really quickly. It’s not something I sit there analyzing. After a while your brain kind of files it under “this is just what they look like,” the same way you don’t question someone’s freckles or stretch marks.

Also, a lot of people have something, eczema, acne scars, stretch marks, random discoloration, you name it. It’s way more common than it feels when you’re the one dealing with it.

The only time it really becomes a “thing” is if you feel super uncomfortable and it affects how you act (like constantly trying to hide it or apologizing for your body). And even then, a decent partner will just want you to feel okay, not judge you.

If someone is turned off by something like eczema marks, that says more about them being immature or unrealistic than anything about your body.

I feel really lucky to have a partner who accepts me as I am and supported me through my weight loss journey!
