Default Hello

Another newbie here! As my username suggests, I like tacos. And cats. I found this site after an exhaustive google search. I've been participating in Beachbody forums with different coaches for a few years now and I always wind up changing coaches because it's just not enough of a give-and-take in the facebook groups. I'm looking to be part of a responsive community and from what I've seen, this looks like the place for me! I'm in my early 40's and have allowed some extra weight to attach itself to me.
  • I'm very active. I love my Beachbody workouts, I do 1hr of Zumba 2-3x/week, and am also a dancer & choreographer. Exercise is not my problem!
  • I love food! I love cooking it, eating it, reading about it, talking about it, thinking about it. I'm a true foodie. I eat a pretty healthy diet-whole, minimally processed foods, lots of veggies, healthy home cooking, no sugary drinks, etc. BUT I still struggle with eating healthy portions. I can get a little obsessed with food at times & I also eat my feelings.
  • I think I'll be getting to know the featherweight group as I am 5'3", 148lbs, and looking to loose 15-20lbs but will also get to know folks in some of the other groups that center on recipes, fitness, emotional eating etc.
  • I'm married and we have 2 cats. I am a high school special education teacher. I work with students who have mild-moderate learning disabilities, with a focus on math interventions. This is my 17th year as a teacher & I absolutely love my job. Every day.
I think that's a fairly comprehensive "about me". I'm looking forward to getting to know this forum better!
Edited to Add: NOT a Beachbody coach ;-) Just saw a sticky about coaches and want to make sure it's clear that although I like my BB workouts and have used their coaches in the past I am not a coach--I'm strictly a BB customer :-)

Hi Tacocat! I like tacos and cats, too! Sadly tacos are off the the menu for me for a while, but I do have three cats. I have a big grey 17lb cat named Clem, an 11 lb mini-panther (black cat) named Oscar, and a 13 lb redhead named Hobie.

I also do the Beachbody programs and I am also NOT a coach and so if you're looking for support from a fellow BB user that has no financial interest in recruiting you, I'm here for you. My current favorite programs are T25 and Piyo, but we just moved and have no internet so thus no Beachbody on Demand and so I've been going old school and using my P90X DVD's lately. Which BB programs do you enjoy?

Zumba has always been interesting to me, but I've never done it. I have two left feet, but it looks so fun!

That is so cool that you love your job. It's a rarity, actually, to hear someone say that. I think your students must be lucky to have such an enthusiastic teacher!

The best part of BOD is being able to choose so many different workouts. I'm int ChaLEAN Extreme right now. It's a strength training program which is totally what I need to supplement my cardio. I also like Insanity Max30. It's brutal, but it's short and kicks my butt and I feel so damn accomplished every time I finish a workout! Hope your internet gets going soon!

I haven't tried Insanity Max30 but I do love the trend towards shorter, more intense workouts of that type. I really enjoy P90X3 and T25 for that reason, and plan to try 22 Minute Hardcorps at some point.

Is there a lot of jumping in Insanity Max30? I did about 40 days of Insanity (the original one) but had to quit because of knee pain from all the jumping.
